VS2005 remote debugger configuration

I have IIS6+.Net Framwork2.0 on my Windows 2003 Server, this is my web
I can edit the web server files in my Windows XP SP2 running the VS2005,
however, when I start debugging, the Microsoft Visual Studio gave me an
error saying the MSVSMON.EXE is not turned on the remote computer.
My question is where do I config the VS2005 Remote Debugger? In my Windows
XP or my Windows Server 2003?
Thanks for help.

I folloowed the instructions on configuring the remote debugging capabilities, but I get the following error. I installed the remote debugging components from the .Net install CD on the remote system and then launched the remote debugger, which put up a commandprompt window. I then configured my local project and hit F5 -- the program seemed to launch, and a command prompt was displayed on the remote console (I have my service running as a...

I have a win2003 server workstation with multiple webs, each web has it's own ip address. In VS2005, if I select to open an existing web site, select Local IIS, the dialog correctly displays a list of all of my webs, however if I attempt to open a site under and web other than localhost I receive the message: "Unable to open the Web 'http://localhost/anywebappname'. The Web 'http://localhost/anywebappname' does not exist" Obviously...

I have encountered a problem with remote debugging under VS 2005 and ..Net 2.0 -- it seems that the framework installation does not include the "Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 Configuration" tool! My preferred method of debugging uses these steps: 1. Share the directory that contains the debug image; also share the folder that contains the debug monitor. 2. Configure the project debug mode to launch the exeecutable from the share rather...

After much hair-pulling, I've finally found the answer to a problem that many are fighting with, difficulty connecting from Sql 2005 Server Management or VS2005 to a remote Sql Server running Sql 2000. In my case the server I couldn't reach was across a vpn connection, behind ISA server 2000, (which had port 1433 open). The answer was in this post:...

I'm having problems w/ the VS2005 debugger with C#. It blows past any breakpoints in even the simplest "Hello World" console application. I can't do any step-by-step debugging. I've provided the code and debugging output later in this post. I've seen a number of threads with similar problems that I'll address below. The one that's the largest concern is this one, which talks about the same problem trying to use the debugger with SQL...

After spending more than a day reducing a complicated compiler bug to a simple case I reported it to the MSDN Product Feedback Center as a bug just now. However this bug is completely stymying my development of a VC++ component. Does Microsoft still offer any free bug reporting cases for VS2005, as they did two for VS2003 so that I can talk with a technical representative directly to try to find a workaround for the compiler bug ? While...

Hello , I fought very hard and succeed to do a remote debug from a client with VS2003 on XP HOME to a Server with XP PRO. This is on a Workgroup : I created same user/pwd with admin rights for client & Server. Also modified the DCOM security to allow remote access to Anonymous login and - finally- on the SERVER (client is XP home and doesn't include secpol.msc) , changed the Security policy "network access : Sharing

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
