VS2005 SP1 crashes

When Visual Studio 2005 SP1 crashes, sometimes it offers to send a dump to
Microsoft, but sometimes it doesn't. Is there some way to encourage it to
send dumps more often?

One crash resulted in this event in the application event log:

I clicked on the link but "Help and Support" said there's no information.
Well, as long as Visual Studio doesn't send dumps, surely there never will
be information.

I have been trying to port my existing VS2003 code to VS2005 Beta 2 (Ver 8.0.50712.6 lab23df .050712-0600), the VS2005 IDE crashes without warning. My question is VS2005 beta 2, stable enough for development or am I having problems because of my installation.?

VS2005 is a PIECE of Garbage and is bug Ridden, I wonder how many others feel the same, I am so sorry that I have moved away from VS2003, VS2005 is unstable, and half the stuff doesn't work, Microsft has spent so much time trying to make it simply that when you try to do something useful with it it doesn't work... Half the time it crashes, and menu items appear for things you cannot do. For example, Go into component designer, ...

Every once in a while I'll close VS2005 with a UserControl (that contains another UserControl) open in the designer. Then when I open VS2005 the next time the designer window will display a message indicating that it can't find the contained UserControl. The two usercontols are defined in two projects in the solution One or more errors encountered while loading.... Could not find 'something.myUserControl'....

After VS2005 SP1 crashes enough times, it stops offering to send crash dumps to Microsoft. But it doesn't stop crashing. When VS2005 SP1 reloads a project after a crash, it still displays a reminder "ha ha, you forgot to spend 30 minutes doing an Analyse in SourceSafe". Then it still proceeds to reload the project that needs analysis, without letting the user abort and run the analysis before reloading. VS2005 SP1 is a fine CTP,...

I have a fairly basic VB.NET application that I converted from VS2003 to VS2005 and now it crashed the VS2005 IDE pretty regularly while trying to use the form designer. I've removed any 3rd references in my projects and recoded methods to remove any deprecated functions. Anyone have any suggestions?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
