Favorite URLs for Latest Features?

What is the schedule for visual studio, C# and .NET framework?

I get the impression C# V3 is not released yet. I found some good web pages
for the various new features of C#.

What are some favorite pages for the latest features of winforms, asp.net,
ADO.NET and the .NET framework?

Thanks,
Siegfried

I'm not sure what you mean by "C# V3".

..Net 1.1 and .Net 2.0 are released. .Net 3.0 is available; it's in CTP (Nov
2006).

..Net 3.0 is just .Net 2.0 + WCF + WPF + WF.

Orcas, the next version of Visual Studio, is now in CTP (March 2007).

What does CTP stand for?
Thanks!

>What does CTP stand for?

Community Technical Preview. It's basically a prerelease version that
doesn't go through as much testing as a Beta release does.

As someone who learned C first, when I came to Python everytime I read about a new feature it was like, "Whoa! I can do that?!" Slicing, dir(), getattr/setattr, the % operator, all of this was very different from C. I'm curious -- what is everyone's favorite trick from a non-python language? And -- why isn't it in Python? Here's my current candidate: So the other day I was looking at the language Lua. In Lua, you make a

I'm sure this is an easy one, but I am a relative newcomer to asp. I am sending an email to subscibers of a news letter with the url of the latest newsletter in the email. this is built up in code. how do i encode it to include special characters such as spaces as %20. I have tried a simple replace routine but this gives errors on invalid chars. thanks

Hi all, I am looking for buying another C++ book and I want some suggestions from you. I am a new C++ programmer but I already know some of the _basic_ ideas such as class, inheritance, operator overloading, etc but not deep enough. The C++ books I own are pretty old so I want a newer one that covers some of the new features of C++ such as STL and share pointer. Any idea? When you reply, can you state the book's name, author and edition?...

The story so far: on somewhat unrelated newsgroup, my attention fell upon the URL: http://www.speedtouchdsl.com/prod706.htm which contains a link to the purported URL: http://www.speedtouchdsl.com/pdf\datasheet706WL-780WL.pdf Comparing the latter with other URLs in that area, it appeared that the "\" was a probable blunder for "/". However, since their web server is IIS, it appears that their server silently fixes-up this blunder, and...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
