My Photos opens on startup and re-opens everytime it is closed

My Photos folder opens automatically on startup and re-opens instantly when I
close it. Occasionally a small black banner appears and disappears with the
words "My Photos" on it. My Photos keeps re-asserting itself as the live
window, so for example I cannot even use Start, Shut Down to shut down my
computer, as there is no time to click Shutdown Computer before My Photos
goes active again.

I have scanned for viruses using AdAware and Defender but found nothing. I
have restored from a restore point before the problem appeared, but this does
not fix it. Contemplating using the Restore CD but maybe someone knows of a
less drastic solution?

Thank you

use. I will re-post elsewhere,

I suggest you ask on a Windows newsgroup - this newsgroup is for .NET
programming issues.

Firstly, apologies as this is not strictly an Access problem. I have a Access 2003 database containing records about people, and each person has 2 photos associated with the record. The photos are stored in a 'photos' folder. When a record is displayed, so are the photos. It all works fast and well. But I'm now getting close to 50,000 records and although it still works well I'm worried about having 100,000 jpgs in one folder.

Using SQL Server 2005 and .NET 2.0; I'm creating a Windows Forms application that will need to display photos of people, along with a bunch of information about each person. In a Web application, there is a generally accepted "best practice" of storing only a string (the path to the .jpg file name), with the actual file stored in an NTFS folder (and not in the database). What's the standard practice for Windows Forms applications? Is...

I saw a similar post in archive and someone said don't post what you don't want others to copy. My purpose in wanting to post photos is hoping someone will be able to identify the indivuals. I do Family History Research and I have a ton of old photos, some going back to the 1800's.....one appears to be a Civil War Reunion. Because these are family photos I don't want a site visitor to be able to copy them, email, etc. Lord knows some of...

Hi there, I have a nice collection of photos on my photoblog, for which I created as well an archive, which shows the last 50 or so photos at the same time. Now, I would like to have the photos displayed all in the same size (although they are originally in different sizes, some cropped, some landscape, some portrait). Is it possible via the use of CSS to "squeeze" the photos in for example a quadratic shape without deforming the...

First, when the user visit the web site, the photos are shown as small size. Then, when the user click on the photo, it will show the larger size on another Image box in the same page. I tried using ImageMap, It works. But, when I look up the client code, it has the physical...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
