Hi !
I am trying to install oracle 9i Standard edition on a windows 2000
SP4 machine. I get through the entire installation up to running the
Database Configuration Assistant.
While it tries to make the database, it gets to the "Creating and
starting
Oracle instance" stage, and then the errors start. I get:
ORA-01503: CREATE CONTROLFILE...

We are investigating using Proxy Authentication from asp.net web forms. The
idea is that we could preserve the identity of individual users in Oracle
without maintaining separate Oracle passwords for each of them.
This connection (odp.net) does just that:
con.ConnectionString ="Data Source=DB1;User Id=RealUser;Proxy User
Id=TechnicalUser;...

I am having difficulty creating a new instance of a proxy for an XML

Hi,
Is it possible to create a proxy client class or a web service method by
VS.NET without using wsdl? My stupid client is using a xml schema (.xsd) to
describe all their web service methods (and my webmethods) by Java (Apache
toolkit) instead of using WSDL. What should I do?
Thanks a lot!

Hello all,
I apologise in advance for the long windedness of
this post, but I feel that if I am going to get any
solution to this problem, it is important that I present
as much information that will be useful in diagnosing
the problem.
I have an application which calls a method of a web service
that we host remotely. I have deployed...

Wsdl.exe /server creates abstract class derived from WebService. Is there a
way to create this class at runtime based on some WSDL file given at runtime
? What would be even better - creating concrete class but with empty method
implementation of course since WSDL does not provide any info on
implementation.
Thanks
M.

Firstly let me be very clear about this, I do not want to create a web
service proxy nor do I want to do anything with web services.
Basically, I have a shrink wrapped desktop application which downloads
data from a web site. Unfortunately the application has a fixed
timeout and the web server regularly exceeds this, causing the
application...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
