PLS HELP: Trying to run WCF examples - getting errors.

Hi,

I'm trying to run Windows Communication Foundation examples included
with .NET 3 SDK and I'm getting error:

The requested service,
"http://localhost/servicemodelsam ples/service.svc" couldn't be activated.

I did try almost every example and get this error - i haven't succeded
in running any WCF service so far. I suspect i'm missing something?

Any help woul dbe highly appreciated!

Thank you,
Andrey

Hello MuZzy,

As for the WCF sample issue, based on the error message and the activation
url, it is likely specific to http binding service that hosted in IIS. You
can try some custom hosted sample to see whether it works. Fro example ,
the following self host sample use console application for service host:

Under the following path:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft
SDKs\Windows\v6 .0\Samples\WCFS amples\Technolo gySamples\Basic \Service\Hostin g
\SelfHost\CS

You can try it to see whether it works. If works, the problem should be
related to the IIS hosted service's setup.

Thanks Steven,

Actually the problem was that i didn't make that IIS virtual folder an
application. Once i made it an app, it all worked.

Hello. I'm a complete newbie trying to learn Python. I decided to try some Tkinter examples, including the one from the library reference, but they don't seem to do anything! Shouldn't there be, like, a dialog? I'm running Windows XP and using IDLE. You can assume my version of Python is the latest.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
