Showing data in GridView or similar

1 New Member
Hi!

I've made a webservice that searches an access database and returns results. I would like to copy that results into a gridview but don't know how. I've seen that gridview uses another database as datasoure but I think it is stupid to build a "cache" database just for transferring data.
So, any help is very welcomed:)

Thx

In my code I'm dynamically creating a GridView control and binding it to a DataView object that I create form a DataSet that I get from a web service call. It seems that no matter what I do I can not get the sort hyperlinks in the header row to show up. I've set AllowSorting to true and various other things but no matter what I do I can't get them to show up. Does sorting only work with the new SqlDataSource and related objects in ASP.NET...

Hello, Does anyone have an idea on how I can filter the data in the gridview control that was returned by an sql query? I have a gridview that works fine when I populate it with data. Now I want to look at that data and filter it based on what is in it. I know that this could have been done with data sets and data views in asp.net 1.1 but how is this done now in asp.net 2.0?

Hi. Apologies if this has been asked here before - I've searched & searched but can't find anything. It's probably my serach parameters, but I'm having trouble even describing it to a search engine! I'm sure this is a very simple problem, with straighforward solution. It certainly is in classic asp/ado, but I'm finally learning this .NET business. I like it, but can't get my head around some concepts. Anyway....

I'm trying to find a way to bind hierarchical data to a gridview control. I've been able to do this with some third party controls and was wondering if this functionality is available with the gridview control. Does anyone have a guidance on this? Thanks -- Live long, stay strong

Hi All, I have a Master(GridView) / Detail(DetailsView) page scenario. When one clicks on a row in the GridView, the DetailsView will be filled-up with related data. My problem is that, whenever one clicks on a row in the GridView that doesnt have any data to be displayed in the DetailsView, the DetailsView only displays "no record found" as set via the "EmptyDataText" property.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
