Hello group,
I'm referring to a "rather old thread" (April 21st 2005). Because I also ran
into problems with ASP.NET 2.0 formview and DBNull, but found a way around,
I would like to share my experiences here.
The problem: A given datatable containing nullable datetime or integer
column(s) cannot be fed by a formview, if the edited or inserted date string
is empty. The same in similarity with other typed columns (not tested). This
is...

Is there any way to accomplish two way data binding in a Details View with a
DataSet or DataTable as the DataSource.
All I want is to get an updated DataSet or DataTable back from the
DetailsView and then handle my updating manually.

I have an ASP.NET 2.0 page with two DropDownLists. I am using declarative
data binding wherever possible and trying to minimize the use of code. The
list of values in DropDownList DDL2 should be (filtered) dependent upon the
selection in DDL1. I think this inevitably needs some code, but I'd be happy
to be told otherwise!
I have some code to handle OnSelectedIndexChanged for DDL1 that sets the
FilterExpression associated with the...

Hi,
I've seen this prob in a few places but the explanations/solution wasn't
up to my understanding!
I have a detailsview, with an insert button that works fine when there
is already data in the bound datasource, but it appears blank otherwise.
One solution was to make all fields templatefields, with itemtemplate
and insertitemtemplate for each field. This didn't appear to change

I am going through "Walkthrough: Editing and Inserting Data in Web
Pages with the DetailsView Web Server Control" found at
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/sdba1d59.aspx
I am using Access instead of SQL Server. Everything works fine until I
get to the last step, where I try to insert a record. When I hit the
New link it lets me add the new data, but then when I hit Insert, I get
the yellow page which I have paseted below. I...

I have pasted code I have in an ASPx page and I want to know how to make it
not display a field that is empty.
There does not seem to be anything online (MSDN) that explains it.
Usually the alt phone number would be empty and I do not want it displayed
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Controls (in order on page)
1.)GridView - each row is a work order w/ a link for details in the
last column
2.)DetailsView - when user clicks on link from above GridView, the
details are shown
3.)GridView - nested in the footer of the above DetailsView. each
row is a person assigned to that work order
4.)DetailsView - only visible when the user clicks "add tech" in the
DetailsView from #2 (above). allows technician to be added to work...

Hi All,
I am displaying a record with certain fields on the DetailsView control on
the ASP.NET web page. Since the record associated with the DetailsView has
lots of fields, I want to split the data between several pages, but, the
problem is, if I do not display fields on the DetailsView, and click Update
after editing, data which is not showing on the current page gets lost.
How to I keep my record persistant, how do I carry on the...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
