if u write the code inside the OnItemCommand and checked for If(!IsPostBack) , then u don't have problem.

I have two forms, a menu and a data entry form. The entry form is bound to a query against linked SQL server tables. In the deactivate event, I have some code which asks the user if they want to save their changes and they can respond with yes, no or cancel. If they press cancel, the entry form stays active with the changes still entered. So, if I'm on the entry form and have entered data, and then click on the menu, the deactivate event...

Hi there, We all know Steve Santos. He *really* is an advertising and job-hunting machine. A lot of us have asked him *many* times and in different ways to stop his blatant advertising. This has been repeated for years and years now. Result: Unfortunately nada. He just doesn't give a shit. He is only very offensive in his answers to these requests. Also he has been 'kill-filed' by many of us. Result: Nada. He did not get enough answers...

I have a Datagrid that is inside a panel. I want to use the keyDown event to reconize the arrow keys. But I have no luck at all. The problem is that the keydown event won't fire at all, unless I click on a row (withs will turn blue then) and then click on it again . Now if I press any key the event will fire (except for the arrow keys). I also tried to override the IsInputKey => no luck. I also tried to override the ProcessCmdKey => With...

I am experiencing some strange behavior between a UserControl's validating event and a treeview control. Initially, I thought it was related to an issue in the Knowledgebase article 810852 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810852), but then I realized that the hotfix mentioned was in .Net v1.1, which I am using. I took the sample from that article and recreated the situation I see in my application. (Code included below.) If you run the...

Hi, I need the MouseDown event be trigged everytime when you press mouse in a datagrid (System.Windows.Forms). But seems mouse event will only fire once, and it seems changed to edit mode for the cell (even the cell is read). The mouse event won't fire again until I click on some other cell and come back and click on the original again.

Probably this quesion was already raised, but I couldn't find any answer to it, even on Google. My question is: I have a plain datagrid on a page, and I'm adding a button column to it. When this button column is in a form of a Link button, ItemCommand event is processed, and code stops nicely on a breakpoint set in the DataGrid1_ItemCommand procedure. When I make one change - type of the button is changed to Push button,...

Hi All, I have a timer, if my data queue Q has data, the timer should start work, if there is no data in Q, the timer should stop. However, there is an event can fire timer to start. Should I add a variable to know how many records inside Q ? Ya, I think so, because timer should use for unknown events, check it in a period.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
