Hello all,
I am writing a script where I need to use the system() function to call
htpasswd. I can do this just fine on the command line...works great
(see attached file, test.php). When my webserver runs that part of the
script (see attached file, snippet.php), though, it doesn't go through.
I don't get an error message or anything...it just returns a "1"
(whereas it should return a "0") as far as I can tell. I have read the
PHP...

I've figured out how to use the <customErrors/> element in my web config
file to to redirect 404 errors to a custom error handler. But, it displays
an 'ugly' URL in the client's browser. For example, if someone browses to:
www.mydomain.com/Users/BobJones/
then my app should display a page with info about Bob Jones.
www.mydomain.com/Users/ is a real folder on my website that only contains a
single file (default.aspx). I've configured...

I found a good tutorial for making a windows setup program so I'm doing
that. But when I add folders to the target machine list they don't seem
to have one for the all users startup folder. I assume this will be a
custom location and I added one called Startup. Now I'm looking at the
properties menu for it but I'm not sure how to set the properties to
specify the all users startup folder--if it exists, user startup if not.

A friend of mine has little kid. Big enough to use the computer.
He created a kid user with restricted user account for his kid but he would
like to remove the confusing start menu, etc.... with a simple, home made,
kiosk style, fullscreen GUI interface.
Which could just launch a bunch of game and logout/shutdown.
And he ask how to do that.
But I don't know!

Hi, can someone please provide me with some information on how I can
create a shortcut from the users start menu/ desktop to my installed
application when I am using the VS2005 setup wizard.
I have tried rightclicking on the relevant folders in the setup wizard
and creating a new shortcut but the best I can do is open up the
folder where the application is located.
I want to actually run the application. I have had a look on google...

Firstly, if there's a better newsgroup to ask this on, feel free to redirect
me.
I have these requirements of WDS for a project:
1) I need to be able to add a new location to the user scope rules for WDS
so that it indexes an application specific folder. This folder, at the
moment, contains only text files.
2) This folder *should not* be included in any of Vista's searches from the

Hi,
New to the forums and have a question. I've only been developing for about five months now so I apologize if this seems oversimplistic....I am writing a program on an idea I had on a whim. It's based on the fact that a store (Wal-Mart) is laid out in a logical manner and you can shop efficiently if your shopping list is in order. What I have are two listboxes, the left one contains all the items I might buy and as you double click on...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
