Crystal Report Document Size

I'm using Crystal Reports in a VB.Net app developed using VS2003. For each
report, I display it on a form using the Crystal Report Viewer control, and
allow the user to print it to a pre-defined printer (wide carriage dot
matrix) by clicking a "Print" button. Because some of the reports can run up
to 180 pages long, I'd like to be able to warn the user with a message box on
a long report, and allow the user to cancel the printing. Is there a way to
determine the number of pages or size of a report document before calling the
PrintToPrinter method on it?

Thanks.

hello, i previously posted the questions below on several crystal reports newsgroups, including the one for the company that makes crystal reports, but never got an answer, so i'm hoping that someone on this board knows the answers to them. the questions are for the version of crystal that ships with visual studio.net 2003. if it helps, the reports that i create are in a visual basic.net project. it was recommended that i post the...

Hi. I have a web-service that takes as parameters the crystal report name and its parameters. This web-service is called from a winform. How can I pass the resulting report back to the client? I tried to do this way: Stream st = myReportDoc.ExportToStream(ExportFormatType.CrystalReport) int size = (int)st.Length; byte buff = new byte;

Using ideas provided by some of you I was able to figure out how to get the names of the parameters fields of a crystal report specified at run time. The code below just basically puts the data into a comboBox. One thing I noticed, however, is that this method shows me both the parameters used by the main report and parameters used by the sub-report(s).

When i right click on the .rpt file in the VS 2003, i see a property printer setting. It says "No printer" on the top and there is option to select printer and paper settings etc.. I want to know how will this affect a report rendered by a crystal viewer. I have a web page with a crystal viewer rendering the report on the page. I build my application in one of my development machines and deploy it

I use VB.NET to integrate with crystal report 9.0 to print a report with custom paper size (using Dot Matrix printer). I have already added a custom paper size in the printer server and set the paper size in crystal report. However, 1. in web form, the crystal report viewer perview cannot identify the paper setting and use A4 instead. The print out is always with A4. 2. in win form, the crystal report viewer preview looks fine but...

I have a 300x300 dpi bitmap file that I want to insert at run time into a Crystal Report. The path to the file is stored in a varchar(100) field in a table in SQL Server. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
