Please don't scream that EMBED is evil !
What I am doing is
<EMBED SRC="BWV659.mid" AUTOSTART="false" LOOP="TRUE"
CONTROLS="SMALLCONSOLE" WIDTH="50" HEIGHT="15" TITLE="BWV 659">
Note the AUTOSTART="false"...
In the good old days of Netscape 3 or so, just <A
HREF="BWV659.mid">Musique</A> would open a small console in the active
page itself, based on the plug-in selected by the user. Today, it opens

Good Day, Gentlemen:
I've been tasked with creating a screen that allows users to
double-click items from list of filenames. Each filename in the list
corresponds to a PDF file. On double-click, the corresponding PDF file
should be displayed. The catch is that the PDF viewer needs to be embedded
*inside* my WinForms app, as opposed to being externally launched. The user
needs to be able to scroll through the PDF and optionally print it....

I have a series of XLS files which I need to embed into a PowerPoint
presentation on an IIS server. I’ll be using VB.NET. I’ve tried using an
ASPOSE.PowerPoint control to do this and it does partially work. The problem
is that when I embed the XLS files PowerPoint is not running and has no way
of capturing the XLS image and embedding it into the PPT. When the user
opens the PPT they are presented with hundreds of “Object...

With this little DLL you can embed either Mozilla ActiveX Browser
Control or MSIE by just calling it's EmbedBrowser(HWND hwnd, int
i) function. 0 = Mozilla Activex Browser Control and 1 = MSIE.
Other available methods include:
>> UnEmbedBrowser()
>> ResizeBrowser(HWND hwnd)
Where hwnd is an handle to a control where the browser
control is

With "normal" SWF HTML there's an EMBED tag nested within an OBJECT tag.
How can I check which tag is actually displaying the SWF? I'm using CSS
on them and the style on the OBJECT affects the EMBED tag so I'm going
to use some code to correct it but I can't tell which tag is responsible
for the display.

OK...Don't ask why - it'll just make ya mad. It makes me mad just thinking
about it. I swear....if I didn't need this job, I'd tell 'em where to embed
their webbrowser control. But, since I do need it, here are my questions...
Can I embed an IE activex control in a webpage? I basically would like to
be able to embed the same component used to create IE-based browsers into a
webpage.
Since IE is already on Windows PCs already, would...

Inserting a Flash (SWF, FLV) file into HTML web page is already an old and familiar thing to all of us. It is a rather non-flexible thing that just to edit some options in the template. However, I did not understand some parameters totally in the HTML tag. These days when I was surfing the Internet I have found some comprehensive introduction to these two tags. I read it and conclude it with my own words; I think it will be useful to us, so I...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
