I have been searching for how to get an icon resource and load it into an
ImageList. I added an *.ico file to my project and set the files "Build
Action" to "Embedded Resource". Is there any easy way to do this? This was
easy to do in the old MFC. I can not find the answer in C#.
I also need to embed an XML file into the resource and load it at run time.
I am hoping once I figure out how to load an icon resource then loading an
XML...

I want to create a special DLL that will contain only images. My application
will then load these images when it needs them. So I searched MSDN and found
this article:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/vbcon/html/vbtskEmbeddingImageResourcesInProject.asp
I followed the example but could not get it to work. Specifically, here's
my code:
Assembly myAssembly = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly();

Hi,
I have some custom colour cursors which I have added to my c# project,
and set them to be compiled as "Embedded Resource"
It seems impossible to load a colour cursor using the standard Cursor
class, so I have had to resort to loading it using the Win32 API, and
creating the cursor with - new Cursor(HCURSOR)
The code I am using is shown at the bottom of this post.

I originally created several "copy" resource reader classes which worked
great individually, but after I converted them into an parent class with
children they no longer find the resources. Each project contains its own
reader class and resource .resx file from where a string or image is read.
Can someone tell me what I need to do to get them to work please. I attach
code.
Im not sure if it's because the derived classes are in...

Since currently we aren't allowed to have compiled XAML files embedded in C++
apps I'm using Markup::XamlReader::Load to dynamically load XAML files. This
works perfectly fine with external files but I'd like to be able to load a file
specified in a .resx resource.
I've added my .xaml file to the .resx and can load it in using
ResourceManager::GetObject(). The object returned is a System::Array^ which
contains System::Byte objects. The...

....quick question for anyone who might have some experience with .net
resource files in VS 2003.
I have an application that is not localized, but I would still like to be
able to place all of the images that are used for icons across all of the
forms in all of the assemblies in a single resource file so that swaping out
an image in the resource file affects all localtions that it appears in the
app. Is there a way to create a single...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
