Error when using webservice in a Windows control

Hi everybody.

I want to call some functions from a Reporting Services webservice.
When I call from a normal winform I have no problems to get it to work.
The problem arise when I write exactly the same code but put it in a
windows control instead. The error I get is:

"InvalidOperati onException", There is an error in XML document (1,222)

I can make variables of the classes in the webservice but not retrieve
data from it.
I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and Reporting Services 2005

Does anyone have clue how to solve it.

Thanks
Daniel

Hi, I'm working on a project which includes XML WebServices and Windows Form application. The Windows Form application will call the XML WebServices to retrieve data from database. The data will be returned as DataSet. Now, here's the problem. On .NET Framework 1.1, if any rows in the dataset returned contain errors (marked by calling the SetColumnError() method or

I have written a web service to return information from the database. This works and the data is returned in XML format from the database and displayed on the web page as well when this web service called getsampledata is invoked. Now I create a web page and created a webservice using the web reference technique in the VS .NET to consume this web service. The web page (application), web server, web service and database are on the same...

Hi, I have created a Java webservice which runs in IBM WebSphere appserver. I take the WSDL-file and create a VS.NET WinForm application and calls the service running on my PC and everything works fine. So I deploy the webservice on a remote machine (Linux box) and I get an error when calling the service. BUT: I can retrieve the WSDL and make a webreference in my VS.NET project, so obviously I (or more correct: My VS.NET project) am...

The windows clients attempts to access this webservice and fails, the error returned is "there was an error processing the <Security> header". If I run the client on the server there is no problem. Help!

Hi, I hope this is the most relevant newsgroup for this post. I have a VB.NET app that uses the MapPoint component, and in my app I use pushpins to display/retrieve GPS locations. Occasionally, when I call: objMap.Distance(locNorthPole, locX) my code catches an exception that's raised, the exception is:

Hi, I am trying to call a webservice from a windows service application. It works only if I launch the windows service app from VS.Net 2005 (Worked around from Main()) or from a winform test application. However, it generates a kind of security error after I install and start the service in my Window Server machine. I believe that it is related to authentication. The following is the sample code: HttpWebRequest obj =...

Here's the situation : I have the same ASP.NET 2.0 web application running on both Machine A and Machine B. On both machines, I have Integrated Windows Authentication turned on, and Anonymous Access turned off for the folder that contains the webservice .ASMX file. When I hit a certain page on Machine A, it will call the web service on Machine A, and then it will call the same web service on Machine B. Likewise, when I hit the same...

Now I uploaded into the server, its windows 2003 server. When I run the webservice it executes perfectly for the first time, whereas it does not execute from second time onwards. But the same webservice when worked from visual studio 2005 inside windows server 2003,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
