Hi,
I am using the following code (see below) from php.net
(http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.xml.php, example 1) to parse an XML
file (encoded in UTF-8). I changed the code slightly so that the cdata
sections will be echoed an not the element names as in the original
example.
In the cdata sections of my XML file I have terms like this:

I have a subform that works fine until you import it into a new
database when it crashes if you try to open it in either disign or form
view.
The form, "Attendees_Subform" in my application was pattern after the
same form used in the MS template, "Event Management.mdb" application
that is downloaded from the MS Template Gallery on their website.
I narrowed down the problem to the Control Source in the,
"Attendees_Subform using the...

Hello,
How can I setup an event in C#? I would like for class A to have an
event, and class B to intercept the event. Class B should not be able to
call the event itself, only class A. How is this achieved in C# ? Are
there any sample/tutorial projects which do just what I am asking?

I'm on a team building some class libraries to be used by many other
projects.
Some members of our team insist that "All public methods should be virtual"
just in case "anything needs to be changed". This is very much against my
instincts. Can anyone offer some solid design guidelines for me?
Thanks in advance....

I've noticed that controls that are contained in MDI child forms fail to raise MouseLeave events if the MDI child form's MdiParent property is set to Nothing (after it was set to an existing MDI container form) or if the MDI child form's Visible property is set to False (after the MDI child form was shown). This is an enormous problem for my app because I must show different MDI child forms based on the state of my application and many of the...

Greetings,
It would seem that this topic has been discussed at some length, but I
was unable to discern whether there was a clear cut solution to resolve
and/or otherwise workaround the issue.
Briefly, I have some code which queries the database from a subform,
and enables or disables a contol in the parent form, depending upon the
results I receive.

Hi Guys,
I am trying to write/copy some code that uses events with a GPS.
Everytime the GPS position updates the event fires.
The GPS code is from a SDK Library that I got called GPS Tools from
www.franson.com
For some reason my code below doesnt work - the GpsFixEvent never seems
to "fire" as it were.

I'm trying to get my head around what's involved in C# to declare, raise and
respond to an event.
I'm coming from the VB.NET world where to declare and event we wrote:
Public Event Foo()
To raise the event, we wrote:
RaiseEvent Foo()

From my newbie perspective I understand that Javascript is a single
threaded environment and so interrupt-driven events are going to be
somewhat challenging.
But, I have an issue which seems to be to be a collision between a
periodic drawing event (based on "setInterval") and a periodic http
request based on the "xmlHttpRequest.onreadystatechange" listener.
I assume my interval timeout, and the operations associated with that...

Hello,
I've got some code working but I'm not sure that the way I implemented it is
the best way. I have a custom collection class with a boolean property
HasChanged that tells me if any of the data has changed. An event is raised
on certain methods (Add, Remove, Insert, etc). Let me write a little code to
describe what I've done and see if there's room for improvement:
I want to represent a class that functions like this when...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
