Hi all,
I have a listBox which is filled with data if not isPostBack. Then on client
side, one more item is added to the listBox( using New Option in
JavaScript). Then on a server button click event, I want to retrieve the
newly added item. But it's not there. EnableViewState has been set to true.
I know if I add listItem on the server, it will keep the viewState. But I
want to do it on the client side.
Did I do something wrong?

I am having a terrible time getting anything useful out of a listbox

I am populating it with the results from Postcode lookup software, and
it is showing the results fine. What I want to do is to allow the

I have a ListBox webcontrol on an aspx page. Items are added to the
ListBox using client-side code. However, when the page is posted back the
items are missing/not available. (It is like the page does not know the
items were added client-side.)

Help! I have two ListBox controls on my web form. The first one gets
populated on entry with values from the DB. I then use JavaScript to copy
options from this ListBox to my second one. (I have also tried changing the
second ListBox to an HtmlSelect control) using bog standard JavaScript code
like so where "used" is the name of my <select> control:

DropDown lists and Listboxes do not appear in the list of controls and
values passed back to the server on PostBack in Request.Form object. Can
someone confirm this to be correct and possibly answer why ?
The impact of this is that values added via javascript will never make it
back to the server side code unless one does some jiggery pokery with hidden

if you fill an asp.net listbox with items from javascript
and then submit the form, even if the listbox's
enableviewstate is set to true, it will not retain the
items inserted from the javascript...It will maintain any
items inserted on the server side...

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
