Get notified when the modem gets connected

Is there some way in dotNet to get notified when my modem gets
connected? Do I have to set up a hook using win32 api or can this be
handled by the framework? If thru win32, what api function should I
use?

Thanks.

Hi, I was trying to make a out going call through the voice modem, play a audio file and disconnect. With the XTAPI implementation of the JTAPI I am able to do it with an analog phone line. The XTAPI forum and the docs on sourceforge.net were really helpful. Now what my real aim was to do this whole thing using a mobile phone connected to a laptop which is on a vehicle. I was using a Motorola i88s phone which has a builtin modem and it is...

I would like to figure out how to detect an IP address change for an XP/Win2K3 machine that is leasing an IP via DHCP (and do it in C#)... Is there any event that indicates an IP address change?... I really don't want to poll for a change. I would like to get an event indicating the IP address has changed and propogate that change to other levels of my app. If anyone has a solution that isn't in C# I am interested in that as

Hello. Is it POSSIBLE to get notified when the machine is connected to the internet or disconnected from the internet? I mean, using .NET class not using Windows API. Other than pinging a website continuously at a time interval. If it is impossible, please answer NO to my question. That will help me to stop searching for this. Thank you.

Hi! I asked previously how to address the COM port from Python and I was directed to pyserial. It is very elegant and I guess it works very well. However, it seems that what I try to do is more complicated than I first thought. I want to make my modem place a call using the number '1234'. The modem is connected to COM3 on my computer. So I tried the following: -------------------------------

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
