I have a webpage that uploads a photo picture file to server, but goes
through some error checking before it redirects to the next page. Since I do
not have PHP compiled with mime type support I have checking last 3
characters of filename. Here are my problems:
1) When I set form type to ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" i can check the
file size correctly and works fine, but then filename and extension are in
some weird format which is...

I have a 3 layer system, SQL Server 2000 database, COM+ dll's (VC++ 6) and
ASP frontend, this system has been in production for quite some time using
english, spanish and portuguese versions. Now I've been asked to test the
system to function with Simplified chinese. The development of the system
was outsourced and we don't have communication with the company (some sort
of legal problems i think).
Now, I've been reviewing the code and...

I wish to send correct language attribute in http header, I found "zh"

Hi,
I have an application that let's the user enter text into a textbox and this
data is collected on the server and stored in a database.
The page is multilingual and sets Response.Charset to the appropiate for the
language, for example gb2312 for chinese etc. This made all texts on the page
show up alright.
However, I did not change the codepage of the page so ASP encoded the post
data sent to the server and I have got really ugly...

How can I increase the maximum size of a Windows form? I'm trying to make a
really big Windows form (about 1000x1000) but the designer doesn't allow me
to do that. It only goes up to 1000x780. Somebody suggested going to the
form's Properties >> Layout >> Size 1000,1000 but my version -Studio '02
v1.0- doesn't have that property. Am I missing something?
Thanks.

Hello all,
I am having a few issues with encoding to chinese characters and
perhaps someone might be able to assist.
At the moment I am only able to see chinese characters when displayed
as part of a datagrid. When an input textbox is displayed it does not
display chinese characters, but rather the unicode characters stored
in the mssql 2000 server backend.

Hi,
I have a problem when I try to open a new form with the Changed event
(FileSystemWatcher) : the form hangs just after the paint. But I use the same
function (OpenFormPerform) to open a new form when I click on the Button1 and
it works fine. I think that it's a problem with thread or applicationContext.
I can use Application.Run(new Form) to put the new form in the message loop
but the application is suspended after the...

Hi,
I'm trying to use os.listdir() to list directories with simplified chinese filenames. However, while I can see the filenames correctly in windows explorer, I am getting ? in the filename strings returned by os.listdir() for some chinese characters.
What should I do to make os.listdir return what I see in Windows Explorer (i.e. the full simplified chinese filename)? I am confused because os.listdir() is supposed to have unicode...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
