The move is on to acquire 3D/2D CAD functionality for the mapping sites.
Google now owns SketchUp which is an amazing vector graphics spatial
development tool. SketchUp can be used with Google Earth.
Microsoft needs to complete their own global mapping strategy. I would say
now that SketchUp has been lost to Google there's no better software to
consider as an acquisition than that from Graphisoft [1] as they dominate
the 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM).

Do they? I mean, really...how many online map sites does the world need and
how much does that really add to MS's bottom line?

Do any of these products generate any revenue whatsoever?

You should learn about Second Life [1] and what is going on in that context.
Yes, people like you and I are making money and some are earning lots of it.

People like you and I are making money in virtual worlds such as Second Life
[1]. The "world" then seems to be a place limited by your own imagination.
Google bought SketchUp to enable people to generate their own content that
Google intends to make accessible via Google Earth. I have had this vision
thing for a long time myself. People and businesses pay to have buildings in
real space for example. People and businesses will pay to use virtual space.
They already are. All that's missing are more APIs and more tools.

Right, but the goal for MS is that THEY want to make money. ;o)
I think their gaming strategy, for now, at least, is mainly XBOX.

I signed up for Second Life but it ran like molasses on my GeForce 5200.
I bought Auto Assault and managed to get that up and running but by
sacrificing look for performance. Still, I am already enjoying it and
will probably sign up for few months once the 14 day trial expires.
I have no problem paying for really good gaming, since I probably spend
way more time on Madden 2006, UT2004 for Linux and other games than
almost any other media (tv, radio, dvd, etc) activity. <%= Clinton Gallagher NET csgallagher AT metromilwaukee. com URL http://clintongallagher.metromilwaukee.com/

I mentioned gaming because it is in the forefront of what I foresee what
XAML is going to make possible: virtual representations of the real world.
Because the real world has become what is has because of CAD during the 20th
century.

Hey guys, I'm wanting to learn PHP and have an idea for a new project.
I'd like to put up a simple page for my family members / friends to
input their address and contact info, and then a script would grab that
text and convert it to KML (Google Earth's XML spec.)
So what i"m looking for is any direction as to which PHP classes will
read text from a field and output it to an XML-based file...(if that's
the right direction...any further...

I'm now trying to figure out how to get the contentType from an image

Hello,
I have build a website with approximately 30 html-pages.
When I search this website in Google, I see the index.html or home.html on
this website, but also other html-pages on this website.
When I click in Google on one of these pages (not index.html or home.html),
I am only linked to that one html-page and not to the website itself.
Does anyone know how to fix this. Is there for example a metatag?
Thanks

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
