Data List and Label Control

I have a problem where when I click on a checkbox in a datagrid, I want
to get the associated label value. here is the code.

foreach (DataListItem item in dlCategory.Item s)
{
bool isChecked = ((CheckBox)item .FindControl("c hkSelection")). Checked;

if (isChecked)
{
//THIS LINE WORKS AND I CAN HIGHLIGHT THE LABEL
((Label)item.Fi ndControl("Labe l2")).BackCol or = Color.Cyan;
//I CAN EVEN SET THE LABEL TEXT IF I WANTED TO
//((Label)item.Fi ndControl("Labe l2")).Text = "New Text";
//THIS LINE HOWEVER DOESN'T SEEM TO READ THE TEXT FROM THE LABEL
Response.Write( ((Label)item.Fi ndControl("Labe l2")).Text);
}
}

I can even set the text value of the label, but not read it. I'm
calling this routine when I click the checkbox, and so auto postback is
set to true.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mark

I have an ASP.NET 2.0 page with two DropDownLists. I am using declarative data binding wherever possible and trying to minimize the use of code. The list of values in DropDownList DDL2 should be (filtered) dependent upon the selection in DDL1. I think this inevitably needs some code, but I'd be happy to be told otherwise! I have some code to handle OnSelectedIndexChanged for DDL1 that sets the FilterExpression associated with the...

I am displaying names and other details of my users in a Formview control by binding my custom business object to it. My custom object also has a property that is a collection of boolean values and I would like to show a checkboxlist within my formview to represent them. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
