Sorry if this is offtopic.
I'm developing a website which, among other things, has contacts. I
would like my users to be able to click on a number and have the
computer dial that number. Is this possible? At least in Windows? Any
suggestions are appreciated.
(Can this be done with a trusted java applet?)
Many thank in advance!

Currently using the auto dial code in access to speed dial phone
numbers from a form in the database.
If we switch to VOIP will we still be able to do this? If so, how?

Does anyone know of anything out there that I can use to dial up a
numeric pager, leave a number and then hang up? It is not a "fancy"
pager. No message, not text, no nothing. Just a regular old pager. I
have looked at the various SMS stuff, but it all goes to text message,
etc. Nothing for a regular pager.
I have a asp.net page, using c#. User clicks a button that says "Page
Me."
Somehow the box with the modem dials up the pager...

Hi all,
I was wondering if there was a way to auto-dial a list of numbers and play a
recorded message to them.
asp.net can email, fax.. so i'm guessing it must be able to dial a regular
phone number too, it's just how do I play some audio once a connection has
been made..
any ideas??

Sometimes I hear the MODEM dialing and I don't know why.
Is there some way I can use VB to tell which program is causing it?
I'm on a LAN so it may be a remote program.
Thanks

Hello all,
i've a problem with connection to a VPN Network through WinInet API.
Scenario:
1 got 2 RAS-connections on my System: one for dialing into the internet
via modem and the second for establishing a PPTP connection to our
network. When dialing the second connection, the first connection is
dialed before. When connection via WinXP desktop this works pretty
good.

Hi Guys,
I;m a bit out of my depth here and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.
We have an Oracle Database and want to put a button on the form to dial the number in the box. the phone system uses a TAPI interface and I can get other windows apps to dial numbers.
I cant find anything on how to go about doing it in Oracle, just VB.
Thanks in advance

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
