deploy an C#+SQL2000 application

Hi All,

If I want to deploy an C#+SQL2000 application to client site, does the
client computer
need to have SQL2000 server at all ? or the relevant database and tables
will be collected
during the process of creating an installer ?

Thanks
John

Hi, guys - looking for a bit of help/advice on moving a database from SQL 7 to SQL 2000. We've a third party application which currently uses a SQL7 database. This database has a number of views which are owned by user INFORMATION_SCHEMA and are set as system tables. This user doesn't actually have a login on the SQL server. We've tried the following to recreate the database on SQL2000, but whatever we try, the views owned by...

I have the need to take an existing DTS package off my laptop SQL2000 Developer version and deploy it on a clients site in the near future. What do I need to do to run this puppy? Can I script it out and run it as an SP? Or is there a better way? Data was FoxPro going to MSDE. TIA __Stephen

This is driving me crazy. I get "SQL Server is unavailable or does not exist" error while developing asp.net application in vs2003's IDE development mode but when I install the application on the server the error disappears and everthing seems to be ok. The error does not appear when I connect to the same databse on the local sql2000 server. I use the same connection string for local WindowsXP+sql2000 server and the remote Windows 2003...

Does .NET provide the way to deploy library to internal developer? I am trying to find the way to deploy a library file to developer for having integration to their application BUT the customer who is using that application will not use that library file. If I choose to deploy like a DLL file, the DLL file will deploy to the customer. I thought this is the easy way if customer copy DLL file to include to the project and use it.

I resisted for many years but I've just written my first app in .NET2005 and am looking to deploy my app with a third-party installer. ClickOnce and the VS Installer do not meed my needs and I am already well versed in another installer. My question is mainly dealing with deploying the app dependecies. I think I know where im headed but could use the advice of others who have had more experience. Should i just take all the files in the...

Here is my problem. I have an app that has over 9 web services. For years I had not issues with clickonce but now it looks like the build is missing XmlSerializers.dll.deploy. I did have this issue once in vs 2005 and one the problem just went away. Well now its back. If I build the app 20 times it may work once. I did find that if I remove this as a required dll that I can get my program to run. I can't seem to find any info about...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
