System.Net.WebE xception: The request failed with HTTP status 400

Hi,
I'm expiriencing something interesting with my web service & desktop client
application. When running desktop client on Windows XP or Windows 2003
everything works just fine. But when doinf the same from Windows 2000 Server,
it fails with "System.Net.Web Exception: The request failed with HTTP status
400: Bad Request." error.
Does anybody has encountered a problem like this or something simular?

Hi,

Check this URL and also check teh service pack installed in the windows 2000
server.
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;293131

One more thing that you can check for is whether the webservie url has
characters like ':','&','%','*' , etc., Please check the details in the
following URL

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;826437

Regards,
Srimathi.

Hi,
I'm sorry, but none of these has actually helped. Both links do not lead to
any hotfix :( Anyway, I have windows 2000 (Server) with SP4 applied on it.
IIS5, and all updates installed. Can an ADSL router with built in firewall
(misconfigured) lead to this problem? Since outside the office everything
works fine. Thank you.

Hi,
you won't believe it, but the source of the problem was antivirus client...
Now when it's behind, it's funny.

Sean.

what do you mean by antivirus client?

I am having a similar problem. While the same code is working on the dev machine, I am getting the "The request failed with HTTP status 400: Bad Request"
in QA and Prod environments.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm building a small ASPX page in C# to forward HTTP POST requests to another site. When the other site returns an HTTP error such as 404 or 405, I want to return that same HTTP status value to my caller. But when I do so, my caller always reports HTTP error 500. How can I return the actual HTTP status that I received? Here is my code: private void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e) {

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
