I'm trying to replicate something in javascript which
is generally done using some realtime image-manipulation
tools and cgi. I want to overlay an arbitrarily-sized
rectangle onto a thumbnail image. You can see an example
of the effect using cgi here:

I found a couple of examples at FAQTs of using clipping

In my C# & MC++ app there is some drawing done through GDI (not +, but
win32).
I would like to be able to create a translucent HBRUSH.
the RGB macro create only solid color...
and, anyway, CreateSolidBrush ignore the higher byte.
Any idea?
I though I might do some trick with CreateDIBPatternBrush but I'm not sure

Hey all. The images I create in photoshop with semi-transparent pixels (for
instance in Photoshop text with a dropshadow with a transparent canvas) I've
been saving in PNG format and then using them in my VB.NET app using the
picturebox control. I was really happy when I learned that you could use
PNG images in VB.NET so your images could blend in with the form's
background color. But, is PNG the ideal image format to use with these...

Hi guys.
I'd like to use an image as my border on just the right side of a div, to create an arrow shape on a 'continue' link. I've created the image to use and tried to code it myself, but failed miserably on both Safari and Firefox. Here's my current code:
#continue {
background-color:#ebebeb;
margin:20px 0px 20px 0px;
height:45px;
border-image-right:url("images/continue-arrow.gif") 100% round;
width:80%;
float:right

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
