[NEXT WHIDBEY FINAL RELEASE] Will be the Control Array back ?

bis
In the 11 November 2005 final
"Visual Studio 2005" release
called Whidbey (if I'm not wrong),

will we have the Control Array back ?

Time ago someone said no, then time later
someother said yes...

Now, have we the final answer?

Thanks

Bis,

You cannot get the control array back. Every control has already a
collection of controls. That is a general standard in Net.

Probably are you asking about a VB6 related question for which you have more
change in the newsgroup

microsoft.publi c.dotnet.langua ges.vb

I know some persons in that newsgroup who find that very interesting. While
by instance I don't see the need for that.

I hope this helps,

I know that this thing is pre-beta, so I'm hoping there's still time for you to change the defaults for text formatting options in the IDE (C# section). One of my least favorite things about installing a Microsoft product, take MS Word for example, is turning *off* all of the features that are on by default . These features are great if you need them. If you don't need them, they just make the product harder to use. At least with Word,...

Looking for opinions on whether or not Whidbey is reliable / ready enough to support development of some non-critical Windows Forms apps (apps that we developers use). Specificially, once it's compiled is .NET 2.0 pretty stable?

Just finished reading about upcoming features in 2004 version of VS.NET and C# in particular http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/productinfo/roadmap.aspx# whidbey Looks good and I am very happy (about generics, split types...), Except 1 thing Microsoft is reintroducing the "Edit and continue" future for VB.NET ONLY???? The "Edit and Continue" functionality in debugger is NOT about simplicity, but about having a modern and powerful

Right now the only way to use a WinForms control in MFC is to enable COM Interop for the control and use it in MFC as you would any ActiveX control. While this works, COM Interop is a pain, and an ActiveX control isn't as straight-forward as a CWnd-derived object. It also means that I have to split my code into two projects. Going the other way (using MFC in WinForms) is only possible by exposing MFC objects as ActiveX controls, which...

I am about to start a new greenfield application. The big question is do I start on VS2005 CTP or not I know the final release isn't until 2005 but a cursory glance makes it seem that ASP.NET in the CTP is quite 'close' and there are some great features there that will save me a whole load of time and which I'd like to use today Does anyone have any REAL experience of developing on the CTP. Have you found major reasons NOT to use it....

It's been nearly 20 months since the last major release of Python (2.4), and 5 months since the first alpha release of this cycle, so I'm absolutely thrilled to be able to say: On behalf of the Python development team and the Python community, I'm happy to announce the FINAL release of Python 2.5. This is a *production* release of Python 2.5. Yes, that's

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
