Page.Validate within User Control OnLoad

I have a web user control that, like most, has a couple of fields with
their corrisponding validators. What I want to do is perform some other
lookup inside of the control if all of the validators inthe control are
valid. This is easy using:

if (Page.IsPostBac k)
{
Page.Validate() ;
if (Page.IsValid)
{

}
};

inside of Page_Load inside of the control itself. What I've noticed is
that each of the validators' ServerValidate events get fired twice. This
makes sense to me; once when called manually inside of the control, and
once automatically at the page level containing the control.

Is this just a bad thing to do, or do most people tweak their user
control ServerValidate routines to ignore multiple calls?

Hello, I am looking for a cross-browser way (Firefox 1+, IE 5.5+) to have my Javascript function execute from the BODY's "onload" method, but if there is already an onload method defined, I would like mine to run immediately after it. So in the code below, what JS would i need to add to my "myfile.inc" page so that I could guarantee this behavior? <!-- main page --> <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript">

I have a specific page that I have chosen to disable the .NET 1.1 validateRequest options by setting the page directive attribute of "validateRequest" from true to false. I manually validate all controls within this page. This page includes a UserControl which contains a textbox. It appears that the validateRequest attribute is not propagated to the usercontrol when the page is processed. This results in the standard "potentially dangerous"...

I can't make this script work properly. I've gone as far as I can with it and the rest is out of my ability. I can do some html editing but I'm lost in the Java world. The script at the bottom of the html page controls the form fields that are required. It doesn't function like it's supposed to and I can leave all the fields blank and it still submits the form. Also I can't get it to transfer the file in the upload section. The file name...

I have tied an AutoCompleteExtender to a textbox to indicate suggestions to the user. Everything works fine if I utilize a webservice to fetch the results. However, I want to put the web service code into a page method. I have run the debugger only to find that the is never entered. Here are some of the things I have already tried with no success. It appears that this is a common problem. -Added the attribute to the top of the...

Hi All, I have a user control on my master page, which exposes 3 public properties (all boolean). Basically by the values of these properties, the user control builds a menu to for users to navigate through the website. I am wondering, how can I set the property of a usercontrol contained within a Master Page, from a content page? Kind Regards

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
