Hello, I have Visual Studio .NET Beta 2 installed. I want to upgrade from .NET Framework Beta 2 - which got installed along with Visual Studio .NET Beta 2 - to .NET Framework 1.1. I tried running the setup of Framework 1.1 directly, but it throws an error saying that a different version of the framework already exists and that it needs to be uninstalled before continuing.

Hi all: I installed DotNet Framework beta 2.0. My web service program stop working in debug mode under VS 2003. I took all steps that Microsoft help page suggest, and none of them are working for me. At the end, I took a look at IIS web configurations app mappings property, and found all aspx, asmx are using Framework beta 2 DLLs. Not Framework 1.1. As a result, I uninstalled VS C# express and Framework beta 2. My web service can run...

Several fascinating problems have occurred with attemped installations of the latest beta 2 versions of the .NET languages (including VC++). mscorsvw.exe has been using 99% of my CPU for 17 hours. More than one billion page faults have occurred. Here is an image of the Windows Task Manager: ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/mscorsvw-is-not-my-friend.jpg In addition, I am now in a remarkable catch-22 situation. Somehow, the one beta product...

I've built a small IT helpdesk ticket system using the .NET 2.0 Beta 2 framework w/VS 2005 Beta 2. This system sits on an IIS 5.0 server, fully patched. The IIS server is set for windows inegrated security only (removed anonymous access) so all users must be domain authenticated. I use the webpage headers in use with security and logging functions (ie: Request.ServerVariables("AUTH_USER")). We also use Exchange 2000 as our email system....

I downloaded SQLExpress from Microsoft and .NET Framework 2.0 Beta too. I removed previous version of .NET Framework and installed the new one according to the instructions on the web. But, now I can not open one single existing project in .NET visual studio 2002 any more. Then I downloaded .NET framework 1.1 and installed it, but visual studio reported me the error that compiler did not work and that it could not find framework. The...

Note that although this involves SAPI, it is more a question about Timers and event handlers. I wrote a Speech Recognize handler (SAPI), and put some code in it to enable a Timer. It would not do it. If I bring this same code outside this event handler, it works just fine. Is this normal?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
