Hi,
I am developing a Windows application with C# in Visual Stuio .NET. My
application references three assemblies that are developed in another
project. I have added these assemblies as references, so that when I
compile the project, the dll files and corresponding pdb files are are
automatically copied to the bin\debug directory of my application. When
I look at the Modules window during debugging, it seems that the debug
symbols for...

Hi gurus,
I usually debug .NET assemblies by pointing to the pdb folder in the VS.NET
solution properties and attaching to the process. However, this method does
not work for me for assemblies installed in the GAC because the timestamp of
those assemblies in the GAC is the time at which they were added to the GAC,
not the time at
which they were built. Consequently, the timestamp of the pbs and dlls don't
match and VS.NEt does not load...

We are currently setting up our environment to file reference any assemblies
we plan on putting in the GAC. To prevent the developer from having to go
get the newest copy of the file and register it in the GAC we are planning
on having a common share where these files will live. So what we would like
to accomplish is this:
In Debug mode have the file reference there, with copy locally set to true,
but in release mode have the copy local...

When I tried debugging for the first time, I pop-up asked me if I wanted to set the project to enable debugging. Now I'm ready to release and can't find anyplace to set the build to 'release'. A pointer would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi:
I have a project that references some in-house assemblies, and in the
'debug' configuration I use the debug versions of these assemblies, but
when I switch to the 'release' configuration, I want the solution to use
the 'release' versions of the referenced assemblies.
How should I go about this?
TIA,

Hi all,
We are trying to debug an assembly which was built in debug configuration on
our build server. The output window of visual studio indicates that no
symbols are being loaded for the assembly.
However, when the PDB file is copied alongside the dll, the symbols load ok.
We were a little confused, because we had already been debugging this
assembly WITHOUT copying the pdb file.
What I discovered was that when the assembly is built...

Hi there
We are trying to build a C sharp solution in Visual Studio 2005 Professional.
We have a number of other assemblies, that do not form part of the solution.
Assemblies that do form part of the solution have been referenced using the

When I am building a project in Visual Studio 2005, I can create
references to assemblies that were built by other projects. The problem
is that I don't see how to create a reference that switches between the
debug and release builds of the other project, when I switch between the
debug and release configurations of my parent project.
That is, when I'm building, running, and of course debugging a project, I
want to use the debug...

We have developed a number of different applications (ASP.NET web site,
Windows services, DLLs, Windows forms, etc.) in C# 2.0. We have developed
and unit tested all these applications/components using Debug mode. Now we
are ready to compile everything for release to production. However, we don’t
know whether we should compile all the applications/components/assemblies
using Release mode (or keep everything in Debug mode).
We’ve...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
