Async execution with SQLDistrib object

Hi to all:
little by little, I'm making my .net app to work. I finally could
initiate SQL replication async, using the sqldistrib object, and have the
status showed in differents forms.

however, i'm still having problems. If I try to start replication to, let
say, 5 subscriber, they are executed async, but, they are somehow locked on
the initiate, run and terminate events of the object.

The first subscriber that runs initialize, hang all the others subscribers
until it finishes the initialize method, and then the second holds the other
ones until it terminates.

Has anyone built an app to run replication asychronously?

Any help would be very apreciated.

Thanks in advanced.

I have a question regarding async mode for calling Microsoft.XMLHTTP object. Microsoft.XMLHTTP hangs the IE once in a while suddenly, but it will work again after half an hour or so without doing anything. I have searched through the Internet and seems like the reason it hangs the browser it's because XMLHTTP limits you to two concurrent HTTP connections to each remote host; so if more than 2 concurrent connections strike the script...

Im in a web page and call an asynchronous method in business class. the call back method is in the web page. When page processes, it runs thru code begins invoking the method then the page unloads. When the callback method is raised, only the method in the web page is run and the page never refreshes, it seems it all happens on the server side. I am trying to refresh the constrols on the page inside the callback method, but when id...

Hi, I am working with a COM library in which modifying almost every object is done asynchronously (because the object represent physical devices across a network somewhere on a telephone switch). Code to modify an object, such as someObject.AddProperty("blah"); will execute immediately but fire off an event when the change has actually been completed. I am developing an ASP.NET interface to this library. There will be

I need to create a webpage that asynchronously loads a series of user controls onto a page. If the user control take longer than X seconds to load it should display an error message in it place. The rest of the page should continue to load whilst the seperate user control threads are loading. What is the correct way of doing this? I've created a delegate for loading the user control sand called

Hi, I implemented asynchronous calls to a web resource (using HttpWebRequest) from asp.net 2.0. The request it's made asyncronously (I see that beginGetResponse returns immediately). The number of worker thread and completionPortThreads are over 300. Making 200 calls I see that 100 are queued. There's a counter telling how much async calls are handled? How can I raise the number of request handled?

I am having trouble doing a redirect in an async asp.net implemention. Most of the time it works, but when it doesn't it just "hangs", the browser never gets any return page. If I run it under the debugger, it works fine, though every so often I get a HttpException. System.Web.HttpException was caught ErrorCode=-2147024809 Message="An error occurred while communicating with the remote host. The error code is 0x80070057."...

Hello, I am working on a c# project using framework 1.1. Since its a console application,no windows forms are being used. I am trying to implement event driven classes that just want to raise the event and continue working( like fire and forget - do not wait for the event handler in client to finish.) I have gone through alot of the articles on internet and MSDN and most talk about delegates (or BackGroundWorker in 2.0 which I cannot

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
