Do any 'classic' asp developers have any knowledge about the client side sql
server EM tool found here:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000050AVL/103-3705998-1519030?v=glance&s=software&n=507846&vi=tech-data
I am hoping this will allow me to leverage default sql server database on
remote web host...but not sure if it will
run on WinXp Professional....I was told it does...
Also: any other fast track hints to get started...

Hi all,
Hope you all can answer this question easily.
I am going to purchase the .NET 2003 Enterprise Developer edition. As per MS
shop, this is about US$ 1,799.00.
What I want to know is whether the price is for one user(developer) or not?
In other way, if 10 developers are going to use this, do I need to buy 10
items (10*1,7999)?

It seems that Microsoft not only does not need the classic Visual Basic
developer army (the largest army of developers the world has ever seen), but
now they don't need ANY Windows developer at a small or mid-sized business.

We have a database that we would want to deploy among 6-10 users to access.
They don't need to edit the design of the application, but I would need to
be able to customize the application on occasion to met some of the users
requirements. We were considering purchasing Access for each user, but I
was wondering if the Access Developer's version would be sufficient for our
needs. What are the pros/cons for using the Developer's Edition...

What is the best/easiest means to return the serial/volume number of the
drive containing the OS using VB.NET?
I'm looking to get this information as a unique ID for
activation/registration of a custom application so as to tie the software to
a single PC. I need something that will work with 98, ME, 2000, XP, and
newer.
Or if anyone has other suggestiosn on best means to generate an ID to tie to
a single PC for licensing I'd...

I am having some problems in the process of moving an Access back-end
to an SQL Server back-end. Everything works but there are severe
problems of response times when the number of users builds up.
At present we are using the Developer version before committing to the
Enterprise version. BOL (quoted below) seems to suggest that, apart
from licensing, they are the same.
Can anyone please confirm that this is so. If not, what is the...

Does .NET provide the way to deploy library to internal developer?
I am trying to find the way to deploy a library file to developer for having
integration to their application BUT the customer who is using that
application will not use that library file.
If I choose to deploy like a DLL file, the DLL file will deploy to the
customer. I thought this is the easy way if customer copy DLL file to
include to the project and use it.

When I bought my copy of Visual Studio it came with disks to install the
"developer's edition" of MS SQL. However, while installing Visual
Studio, the Express version was automatically installed and I have been
using the express version with my C# programs.
My question is, what, if any, benefit would there be in installing the
developer's version instead of continuing to use the express version.
Thanks in advance for your responses....

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
