JavaScript web links

Hi

I've got to get performance stats for a website. The links within the web
site aren't normal URLs but JavaScript links, e.g.

<A HREF="javascrip t: if (document.Main. ParentID &&
document.Main.P arentName ) { document.Main.P arentID.value=' ';
document.Main.P arentName.value =''; } if (document.Main. fCatalogID &&
document.Main.f CatalogName ) {document.Main. fCatalogID.valu e='';
document.Main.f CatalogName.val ue='';}SetPageT oShow('Catalog Page');"
TITLE="Click here">An example link</A>

When I'm recording a test using the ACT tool, it brings up the web site and
when I click on the link nothing happens; ACT doesn't appear capable of
following the link.

However, if I'm just looking at the site without recording then it works
fine.

Are there any settings that I need to configure that will enable the ACT to
follow JavaScript links?

Thanks

Griff

Dear group, I administrate the web site of a German school (www.gymnasium-burgdorf.de\test.htm) and so far this site has been designed using HTML and CSS only. Due to the increasing number of submenu links I am thinking of switching to javascript, which seems to work fine on my PC so far (sorry, it's not online yet).

Yesterday, I decided to try Firefox. I've encountered a behavior that is either a bug in Firefox or a bug in my Javascript code. I'll try to explain the problem, hoping that this newsgroup can (in)validate my Javascript code. First, I'll describe the purpose of the Javascript code. I often have a need to post a URL to something at my own web site, e.g., http://www.standards.com/Sorting/SortPerformanceComparison-Description.html. It is...

I have been searching the 'Net, and I can't find the right solution here. I am writing some PHP pages that utilize some Javascript. The script works in Mozilla/Netscape, but fails in IE. I don't know if it's the Javascript or the PHP that is causing the problem. I started with an example in a book and added on. The script I'm using is: <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="Javascript" TYPE="text/javascript"> <!--

http://www.JavascriptToolbox.com/bestpractices/ I started writing this up as a guide for some people who were looking for general tips on how to do things the 'right way' with Javascript. Their code was littered with document.all and eval, for example, and I wanted to create a practical list of best practices that they could easily put to use. The above URL is version 1.0 (draft) that resulted. IMO, it is not a replacement for the FAQ,...

I'm pondering what the various drawbacks are of the methods to code UI elements who's function relies on javascript and css. Currently on http://www.pan-europe.utvinternet.ie/ I use styled <a> elements to display two UI elements that via javascript select alternate stylesheets that enable or disable the left utilities panel and/or the navbar. (both are there for the convenience of desktop users, they are not essential, likely to be a...

This is from my previous post, but a different issue. I have the following Javascript routine that opens a popup page, but doesn't seem to work if called from an asp.net button. It seems to work fine from a link. The button does bring up the popup window, but when I press the links on the page, it doesn't return or close the window. ****************************************************************************

I am looking for a method to extract the links embedded within the Javascript in a web page: an ActiveX component, or example code in C++/Pascal/etc. I am looking for a general solution, not one tailored to a particular page/script. Hopefully, the problem can be solved without recreating a complete Javascript interpreter. Any ideas?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
