need advice on xml files storing

Hi,

I got following problem:

I am working on large vs.net application using single
solution with many projects inside.
Application is some kind of workflow - uses 2 types of
xml, xsd, xsl files: "resource files" and "data files".
"data files" are, through using some factory stored and
managed in database.
"resource files", like xml, xsl, xsd, are accesed only in
read mode, and their change(add, remove, edit) usualy
requires rebuilding.

What is preferable place to store "resource files" inside?
1. Just files in main projects folder
2. Just files in some dedicated folder
3 or?

If just files in main project folder, then i sometimes
geting access exeption during reading(in test application
placed in default inetpub ...) - what security rule guards
it and is required to change?
Also what about reading files(thouse "resource files" not
assemblies) in 1 project from another project(referen ced
or not) in same solution?

would great appreciate any help
Zag

I am storing images in a database and need a way to browse those files. I can load the files into an image list or whatever the control needs, but I need a control. It doesn't seem that any of the standard window controls would work, but I am thinking I can just draw all the images on an panel (or a browser form for that matter). Does anyone have any advice?

Up to this point, our application has been using Windows File Sharing to transfer files to and from our application document repository. This approach does not lend itself toward a secure environment and so we are in the process of imposing a WebService gateway between our application client and the repository. (As a starting point, the WebService won't be a richly featured application server; business rules are still implemented in the...

I need to store a large number of files in an archive. From Python, I need to be able to create an archive, put files into it, modify files that are already in it, and delete files already in it. The easy solution would be to use a zip file or a tar file. Python has good standard modules for accessing those types. However, I would tend to think that modifying or deleting files in the archive would require rewriting the entire archive. ...

Hi, I am trying to build a tool that analyzes stock data. Therefore I am going to download and store quite a vast amount of it. Just for a general number - assuming there are about 7000 listed stocks on the two major markets plus some extras, 255 tradying days a year for 20 years, that is about 36 million entries. Obviously a database is a logical choice for that. However I've never used one, nor do I know what benefits I would get...

Good afternoon, I need some advice on the following: I've got a class that has a member std::vector<CStringm_vFileName and a member CString m_path; The vector contains a bunch of filenames with no path included (no C:\...) eg: my_file2.jpg, my_file1.bmp, etc... and m_path stores the path, eg: C:\folder1 I want to sort this vector according to different criterion, such as

Hello All! Still very new to PHP and I was wondering about the easiest and simplest way to go about doing something for a project I am working on. I would simply like advice on what I'm asking so I can go and learn it myself through doing (best way for me). I am building a card game as a learning-project as it involves many (to most of the) things that I would like to learn to do with PHP.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
