Hello,
I'm getting the following error when I update a referenced assembly, but not
recompile my client application project:
"The located assembly's manifest definition with name 'xxxxxx' does not
match the assembly reference"
I've searched the net for this error and I've read that this should be due
to a version change of the referenced assembly (and thus it is suggested

Suppose an assembly "Main" is using class "A" from another Assembly "Dep" as
follows :
A a = new A();
a.MethodOne();
At what time is the call to MethodOne linked to the actual MSIL (method
body) of the method? Does this occur when "Main" is build or does it happen
when main is loaded and Jitted? Also is the linking achieved by the full
method name( this is what is seen in the IL generated by ILDASM : e.g : call

I want to use a 3rd party assembly that links to a "4th party assembly." My
problem is that I use a newer version of that 4th party assembly. When I
add the assemblies as references to my application it won't run. I get an
error, " The located assembly's manifest definition with name 'XXX' does not
match the assembly reference.".
Is there any way to get around this? All the assemblies are strong named so
is there a way to use the GAC...

I am having a problem getting a pointer to an existing running Excel
process on a client machine.
Here are some details:
1) I have tested out the code on the development machine and it works
fine. (Excel XP)
2) The code works fine on a machine in our offices with Excel 2000.
3) On the client machine (with Excel 2000), the code does not work.
I wrote some diagnostic tests to further try and see what was going on

I'm getting an error that should be easy but I don't understand the info
structure well enough to know what's going wrong.
I've been slowly adding classes and projects to a solution for a while.
There's a single test exe and a number of of# library classes. I needed to
move two of the projects down one directory from their original position and
did so my making the appropriate directory, copying the source to that
directory, deleting the...

does not match the assembly reference.
That's the error I get when trying to compile any of my projects. I'm
in VS2005.
I think it has something to do with the .NET version. I had recently
tried some projects I had downloaded.
Now nothing works.

If anyone can help me with this I would really appreciate it:
I have an assembly into which I have linked a manifest file as a Win32
resource. This is necessary since I want to use a class in this assembly with
registration-free COM interop from a Win32 application.
I also want to use this assembly with a .Net application that I want to
deploy using ClickOnce. However when I try to install the application from
the deployment location I get...

I'm sure I'm missing something very obvious here, but... I have an ASP.Net
web application project (VS2005) that is compiled into a single DLL. I
created a setup and deployment package and set it up on a test machine. It
installed fine, but as soon as I started it I saw something I wanted to
change, so I made the change in my project, re-compiled it and then just
overwrote the original DLL on the test machine with the new one. When I
tried...

I have an ASP project written years ago that I have recently started
to try and update. It was written by someone who used to work here
before me, and the source code I have is in a major mess.
There is just one (of many) DLL file that once I recompile I get the
error mentioned above.
The located assembly's manifest definition with name '.....' does not
match the assembly reference (see snippet for full detail).

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
