I created an msi using the Setup Wizard, but don't seem to be able to create
a shortcut to the applicaton on the desktop (or prompt for one) or the menu.
Also, I would like to add an "uninstall" to this, but don't see that it
allows for this?
Am I missing something?

I can't seem to get my head around the Visual Studio's Deployment Projects:
I want the user, at install-time, to be able to specify if they want a icon
placed on the desktop or not (I'm trying to use Checkboxes(A)). Seemingly
you can just place the Checkbox1Property Name into the User's Desktop

In my vb.net programme (an interactive book) I have to
create a shortcut from the desktop to a named path (for
programme start) - without using the deployment project
available.
I have sorted out various ways of setting up without using
the deployment project method (I am a masochist!!).
However, the programme uses 700 Mb of data and the list
stored in the Application folder of the deployment project
is too big for placing completely...

I've written an application using VB.NET 2003 and packaged it with a
deployment project. When I use the setup program to install the
application, however, it doesn't work. More specifically, the shortcut

I create a merge module using .Net 2003 Deploment project. I added a shortcut and used this merge module in InstallShield project.
After installing the product, when click the shortcut, it runs Windows Installer to open the file. The problem was that the Target property of the shortcut was set to a feature in InstallShield project. This make the shortcut advertised. It should point the the actual path for the file.
