Debugger Hangs

I have .Net 2003 EA. When I create a simple Windows Form,
set a breakpoint, and run it by clicking on "Debug/Start",
the debugger hangs. I then have to get out of VS
2003 .Net by using the task manager and ending the task.
Can anyone help me out... I already stopped the WWW
Publishing Service because it was stuck on "Starting".
Any other suggestions...

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Ever since i installed SP2 my application can't even step into the first line of my Main function in the debugger; the IDE hangs; i need Windows Task Manager to kill it and my application. My application runs outside the debugger, in 2005 Beta's debugger (i am using .Net Framework 1.1 SP1, i can't use Beta for my customer), and in the 1.1 debugger on another PC that doesn't have SP2 installed. What could cause the hang?

Hi All, I am writing a tool, which should monitor some exe-processes, which are not very solid. Th main function is to re-start them, if they hung, but this is complicated. I can detect things like no longer generating IO or such properties and I use WMI to do that. I am also looking for attached subprocesses, which are one of the system debuggers. I wrote a test-program, which creates a divide by zero error after some seconds. I can...

Hi, I have a web service called GetComputerNameAndDescription which I can call from the main thread of my app. If I call it from a separate thread, however, it hangs on the call to Invoke() -- but only if I'm in the debugger. Here's a stack trace with non-user code shown -- the call to RegisterNotifySource, at the top of the stack, never returns -- I have to do a "break all" inside the debugger, then find this thread and examine its call...

I'm running this on a 2.8 GHz machine with 1.5 GB RAM. (XP machine) The full suite of VS.NET is installed. I'm running 7.1.3088 Professional Edition. Initial launch from within IDE took only seconds, but my system froze almost immediately, and required reboot. Now, launching from within the IDE is very slow -- 5 minutes -- with CPU usage maxed out the entire time. And once application is running, the system goes weird -- task bar...

Hi, I have used venkeman js debugger in firefox to debug the code first. Until everything goes ok, I use IE to check compatiblity, but the IE error info really make no sense :( really hate that! Is there any toolbar can be plugged into IE to do further debug which can help giving reasonal error/warning message? Instead of buy tools like "splinetech JavaScript HTML Debugger".

Hi everybody! My problem is this... I'm working on a windows application using Visual Basic in VS 2005. When i start to debug my application the exceptions that are generated are not being thrown, in fact the debugger hangs and i don't have other solution than reboot the machine. The same happends when i use breakpoints or try to throw an exception inside a try- catch sentence. However the exceptions are thrown as it should be when i do the...

I've been experiencing a problem recently where the debugger hangs for up to ten seconds, even when executing very simple operations (i.e. adding two numbers). During the hang, a little popup appears in the toolbar saying that "Visual Studio is busy waiting for an operation to complete" and the IDE is completely frozen. The hang occurs when one or more background threads are: 1) performing file-read operations via StreamReader, AND......

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
