Hi all,
I am student who is using .NET pro. I have copy and
pasted a working section of code into a new project. Its
a simple demo using directX to rotate a triangle.
However when i try and compile the program I get 5
linking 2019 errors (Unresolved external symbol). I have
read through the help explanation of this but don't see
where the error has come from. Especially since this
code DOES work. Please help.
Cheers

Hi
I've a COM compiled in visual studio 6 that is internally using zlib library
(an opensource library for compression). I've no problem compiling that
code. But when I moved to visual studio.Net it started giving me linker
errors. The errors are given below. Is there any compiler option in the .Net
studio that I'm missing because if there were a problem with the zlib
library that I'm using, it must have given errors in VS 6 too. If...

i just downloaded and installed the directx aug 2006 sdk
the machine i installed it on had both vs2003 & vs2005
the visual studio extensions were installed into vs2003 but not into vs2005.
does the directx sdk not integrate with vs2005 ?
are we essentially forced to develop directx apps using vs2003 & .net 1.1 in
order to take advantage of the vs extensions ?
the docs make no mention of vs2005 or .net 2.0 - but then again while the vs...

I don't really think I mean errors, but it seems so on my computer.
I used to have Visual C++ 2005 Express, and I tried the DirectX SDK, and it didn't work. I had some idea in my head about the express version not having every single library or header file required to make the SDK work, so I decided to get the full version of Visual Studio 2005. I'm glad I bought it, because now I have a whole load of stuff to work with, but sadly, the...

Hi,
At present application was built on solaris 9 using sun studio 9 (Sun C++ 5.6) & rouguewave sorce pro 5. We are planning to port the same application onto SuSE Linux 9.5.0 using GCC 3.3.3 & RW source pro 9. My application heavily uses RW tools through wrapper classes on the top existing RW classes. RW libraries were built using gcc on linux platform and standalong RW examples are working fine. Since the application compilation is moving...

I am using boost.python to wrap C++ function which includes
directmusic libraries to simply play the midi, but lots of linkage

possible to work with DirectX - directmusic libs. Are there any ways
to wrap it?

I just downloaded the apparently free SDK for DirectX 9, all 200+ MB
of it, but as I read about WPF I wonder: is DirectX obsolete? Should
I even bother learning how to use it? After all, the end user must
have the DirectX library installed on their PC before they can use any
video playing program you write.
Does WPF even use DirectX? Or are the functions of DirectX (mostly
video and graphics stuff, possibly accelerated via software...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
