NET Installation prob: mscordbi.dll failed to register

Hi everybody,

by a stupid mistake I deleted some important files for my .NET 2002 installation that I had on a w2k machine. So I de-installed VisualStudio.NE T completely and tried to re-install it, but now I get strange error messages. During installation of .NET Framework I get:

"C:\WINNT\Micro soft.NET\Framew ork\v1.0.3705\m scordbi.dll failed to register. Contact your support personnel."

??? What could be the reason that the dll can't be registered? And how can I fix it?

Many thanks.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
