Linker errors with VC++ 2005 smart device project and STL

Hi,

I'm using Visual C++ .NET 2005 Beta1 and have an ATL Smart Device project.
I've got lots of LNK2001 errors:

menu.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "void __cdecl
std_ce::_Debug_ message(char const *,char const *)"
(?_Debug_messag e@std_ce@@YAXPB D0@Z)
menu.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "public: static void
__cdecl std_ce::_String _base::_Xran(vo id)"
(?_Xran@_String _base@std_ce@@S AXXZ)
menu.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __invalid_param eter
....

I also had some LNK2001 errors with a LockIt class than I have resolved by
changing the LockIt class definition in yvals.h. However I still can't
figure out how I can deal with the above mentionned errors.

What can I do?

Thanks.

Hello. My new dev machine is running XP Pro. In the past all equipment has only used Windows 2000. I have had a lot of problems getting my projects up and running on the new machine. The current one is a permission error. The project is a VC++ Web Service. It works fine when the service is hosted on the old W2K dev machine, but on the new XP machine I get a permission error when the service tries to open a text file on the Windows...

I'd like to have a set of more-or-less common code which I want to use for both desktop and smart device projects. I have two questions: 1. How can I set up conditional compile directives for those parts of the code which are different on desktop and smart device projects 2. How can I actually share the same .cs source code files between the two projects. If I try to open a smart device project and add the files which are in the...

Hi, I'm having a pretty idiot problem under VC++ .NET but cannot solve it. I have an .exe A and a dll B. A uses some methods of B (so A depends of B). B exports its methods using __declspec(dllexport) and A imports them using __declspec(dllimport).

I have a MFC application developed using VC++ 5. Recently I ported that to VC++ 7.1 and now I am trying to compile the MFC application with /CLR under VC++ 7.1. And I get linker errors referring to one of the libraries that the project uses. Without the /CLR, the project compiles and runs well. There is some library by name task.lib and the code refers to that lib, in the linker step i get the following linker errors:- Task.lib :...

After porting a project from VC6 to VC.NET 2003 I have a very strange problem generating link error 1104 for import libraries. I just ported the project and made some small adaptions so it fits the new IDE. The project itself links against some import libraries belonging to dll's I wrote (these dll's have been ported too, of course). To keep things simple I only use one import library here. To tell the linker it should link against

Hello friends, I have an issue with a linker warning. It is the warning LNK4089. I am working in MSVC6.0 I investigated and this warning tells that the import of the library to which it makes reference is redundant, thus the linker ignores that library in order to make the code smaller. As it is expected, it only appears for release versions.

Dear All, I got a problem and need your help. After I converted my project (Embedded VC++ 3.0 for Pocket PC) to .NET 2005 Framework I can compile it without any error or warning. Then I ran it on iPAQ got an error "The parameter is incorrect". After debug I found the following line caused the error message:. CTime t1(1970, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0); Then I created a new MFC Smart Device Application in .NET 2005, project type:Visual C++ for...

I am trying to write a device driver, and I need to set the project's system link to /SUBSYSTEM:NATIVE (as opposed to WINDOWS or CONSOLE), but the option isn't under the drop down box. If I try to type it in myself, it just reverts back to /SUBSYSTEM/WINDOWS. The NATIVE option should be in the list inherently, but for some reason, it's not showing up on mine. Anybody know why?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
