This reminder from Severian the you that you can easily access this
and just about any newsgroup without a newsreader at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/newsgroups and http://groups-beta.google.com
and without ads (at least so far).

And if you've got sense enough to use a newsreader, and an ISP with a
decent news feed, you don't have any kind of sign-up to do.

This message from Severian is intended for those who would rather
complain about it than ignore spamming fuckwits.

(I also noticed that the message was posted using the newsreader
Agent, rather than the must-be-oh-so-wonderful ugroups.com).

Hello, We are using Access ADP as a front end, SQL Server 2000 as a back end. We have a customer contact database. We would like to limit certain users to only receive certain records based on Windows NT group membership. For example, Eastern Sales Group can see clients located in their region, but they cannot see clients located in the...

We've set up an SQL Server 2000 (build 8.0.761 - I think that's SP3) access control scenario like the one described in this article: <http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2000/maintain/sp3sec01.mspx>, but can't get it to work in all the cases we have need for. Specifically, we have a domain controller with two objects defined: *...

Hey Guys, Today we are going to look at Code Access Security. Code access security is a feature of .NET that manages code depending on its trust level. If the CLS trusts the code enough to allow it ro run then it will execute, the code execution depends on the permission provided to the assembly. If the code is not trusted wnough to run...

Hi, I need to restirict access at the page level to a range of IP addresses. What's the best approach? I thought of building an HTTP module that could compare the requesting IP with a restricted range, specified in web.config. Any thoughts? Thanks, Chris

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
