VC++ 2005 support for XML Comment generation

I have been looking at various info about VS 2005 and I keep seeing that the
XML code comment generation is being extended to VB.NET, but there seems to
be no mention of it correctly supporting C or C++. At the moment it is very
hit and miss with the C/C++ comment generation, as it actually works
correctly some of the time, but only some of the time, with it often failing
to pick up the comments and in our office, working only on some machines.

Hi David,

I'm not quite sure what it is you're saying.... AFAIK, XML doc comments are
supported through the new /doc compiler option for the new syntax (which
seems to work here ok.)

Are you saying you're using it and it's not working correctly? If so, then
you should definitely file a bug on it...

Hello, I'm about to write a database application and I'm wondering how to approach it. Is it worth to use the database code auto-generation (VC# 2005) in the long run? Or at some point I'll be thinking about rewriting the app... Is the db code auto-generation versatile enough to be useful in non-trival applications. Thanks Greg

Everything seems to be moving to .NET and VC++ seems to be adding a lot of managed code support every new release. The questions: is unmanaged code in VC++ beeing phased out in favour of managed code? And suppose I still program in VC++ 6.0, can I safely assume that the code I use in VC++ 6.0 will still be available in future VC++ versions. Finally will VC++ 6.0 generated executables be still be able to run on futur Windows versions and...

I emailed support, and the reply was: "We understand your concerns in this matter. We would like to inform you that at this moment we do not have any plan or information if there will be replacements for the discontinued exams." Does anybody...

Hi Everyone, I have a Visual C++ MFC program, and I am trying to use a webservice written in C#. When I add the webservice to my project using Add Web Reference the sproxy compiler complains about one of the object wanting to extend MarshalByRefObject object, and I get an error SDL1030. I can use the webservice in a C# project just fine but not the C++. Can anyone help me out with this?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
