VC# 2005 database code auto-generation

Hello,

I'm about to write a database application and I'm wondering
how to approach it. Is it worth to use the database code auto-generation
(VC# 2005) in the long run? Or at some point I'll be thinking about
rewriting the app... Is the db code auto-generation versatile enough to
be useful in non-trival applications.

Thanks
Greg

Hi, I'm developing an application that is basically a VB.NET front end to a SQL Server Express 2005 database -- right now I'm using VB.NET 2005 Express until my MSDN subscription gets delivered later this week. Here's the problem I'm experiencing -- I created several databound controls on a form and when I attempt to debug the application I get 6 errors, 16 warnings -- Warning 1 The variable 'JeopardyDataSet' is either undeclared or...

In VB6 there is Auto Increment check box in Project Properties, which allow you have a new version every time you compile the project. Is there any easy way to have this feature in VB 2005? Some of my blocks of code check and compare versions of EXE and DLLs located on the local workstation and the server. So it's very important for me to have an incremented number in case the project was rebuilt. It can be done manually, of course, but I...

I'm a newbie to asp.net, but I have been a programmer for years. I have a question that I'm hoping someone can give me a good answer for, I have been trying to set up a site remotely and I've been using the login control that comes with Visual Web Developer 2005 Express, this comes with SQL 2005 Express. The remote site is not a company computer, but basically a host that I'm paying for. When I deploy on this remote site and try to log...

Hello, all, I started out thinking my problems were elsewhere but as I have worked through this I have isolated my problem, currently, as a difference between MSDE and SQL Express 2005 (I'll just call it Express for simplicity). I have, to try to simplify things, put the exact same DB on two systems, one running MSDE and one running Express. Both have 2 Ghz processors (one Intel, one AMD), both have a decent amount of RAM (Intel system...

Hi, We have a SQL-cluster with over 6300 databases, most of them pretty small in size and usage. For this reason all these databases are on auto-close ( Otherwise SQL would need many many gigabytes ). We've recently upgraded to SQL 2005 because of the Management Studio, because the EM is unusable on a SQL-Server with lots of databases.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
