mouse device type

Hi:

How to get mouse device type (how many button, scroll/wheel?) if I have multiple mice installed. I know if there is only one mouse , we can use getSytemMetrics () to get button of number, is it scroll or not.

But if I got several mice installed, how can I find mouse type information for each of them? i thought I can get it from Raw input. But when I look at detail , I found that GetRawInputDevi ceInfo() finction will retrieve a device information object RID_DEVICE_INFO _MOUSE . RID_DEVICE_INFO _MOUSE structure contains three data member:
dwId ----------ID for the mouse device.
dwNumberOfButto ns-----Number of buttons for the mouse.
dwSampleRate--Number of data points per second.

There is no information about whether it is scroll or wheel
How can I get it?

Thanks

June

I am trying to catch mouse position on the entire screen by dynamically generating mouse click event at every 100 ms. My code only works for IEs but not any Netscape or Gecko-based browsers. The following are the problems and I hope that there is someone who can enlighten me or give me some pointers. Also, my testing code is attached at the end. And please don't ask me why I am doing this - it is one of functional requirements by all...

Is it just me or are there no good librarys out there to access the keyboard or mouse? I have been looking around for a while now and can only find ones that are bundled with a bunch of other stuff that I dont need (SDL, GLUT). I just need a simple platform independant way to access the keyboard and mouse. Anyone know of any good ones?

Hi, I am coding for an application with dialog window. I need intercept mouse input. I need catch raw input, pretty much everything for WM_INPUT: such as Left/Middle/Right button down/up, srcoll/wheel, pull and drag, device source. I checked SetWindowsHookEx, it seems it can't catch so much infor, only LButton RButton Down/Up? What function should I use or maybe I should ask how to hook Dialog box message Proc? Thanks

Hi all, I have been searching for a keyboard and mouse tracker on linux. I've read solutions (watch at sourceforge) which look at /proc/interrupts to check keyboard or mouse activity. I also read one post where "watch" seems to have difficulty tracking usb keyboards and mice. So, I'm out of ideas here. My goal are: 1. Check keyboard activity. I'm not interested in logging which keys are pressed or record them.

If I have a number of random applications open, move the mouse cursor to a given position and do a click, the application gets the focus. That is what this simple code should illustrate: Dim pt As Point Dim wnd As IntPtr Const WM_LBUTTONUP = &H202 '//LButton up Const WM_LBUTTONDOWN = &H201 '//LButton down

I am trying to find how windows translate the input from a HID device to an actual windows message; specifically, the mouse. I am trying to figure out how when the mouse moves the process windows takes in order to ensure all windows receive the notification that the mouse moved and how windows moves the mouse cursor. What process handles the movement of the mouse cursor and at what point does windows move the mouse cursor vs posting the...
