Hi, ALL
In the VC.net 2003 IDE, the start page list the solutions that I have
opened. the start page only display: name, and modify date.
the problem is after I have opened a several solution which have the same
name, and stored at different path, the start page will list a lot of
solutions with the same name. because there are not path to be displayed, so
I don't know which solution is my needed. the more interesting that the
modify date seems always not changed, whatever you modify the solution or
the source code. so the start page list all the same date with the all same
solution name??? which let me always mess up. Who can help me?
Thanks a lot,

I wish I knew how to edit that page, too.
However, when your point to an item in the
list (don't click), you see its path in the
status bar.
Thanks a lot,
Bill

I might be dumb, but this doesn't resemble
what I have. Could it be that this is for
VC7 (whereas I have VC7.1)?

I noticed that start page when I first installed .net and thought hmmm...
another thing they have stuffed up in the .net IDE. I have never used it.
I rely on what I have been doing for the past several years. Each solution
(project, pre .net) that I am currently working on has its own shortcut on
the desktop. Some of them are important enough to have the shortcut in the
quick start bit of the task bar as well. The shortcut launches VC with a
parameter specifying the file name of the solution of interest. Each
shortcut is clearly labeled as to what it is eg: 'product 4 version 3.5".
For solutions that I don't often use (and/or don't have a shortcut for) or
those I have relegated to the archive I fire up explorer and double click
the .sln file.
The only time I ever launch VC as an application is when I am creating a
brand new solution.

Anyone who has taken a look at the online FAQ today may have noticed
that I have updated it. The majority of the changes are the updating of
broken links and the implementation of that extensive suggestions for
re-wording provided by Michael Winter. Other changes are listed below.
Fore those interested, a zipped snapshot of the entire FAQ and notes, as
it now is, is available at:-

Is there any way to make a web app that updates automatically when the
server updates some flags? An example would be a web mail interface that
automatically updates the new email count as emails arrive. I guess one way
is to have the page reload every x seconds, but that it is not elegant at
all.
- Thanks!

Hello,
I've seen bits and pieces of this problem, on the newsgroups, but I haven't
been able to get it exactly how it happened to me...
I've been using Visual Studio and learning ASP.NET with no problems. IIS is
working and everything was just fine.
Then my company did some Microsoft updates (I wish I knew exactly which
ones) on my machine and now when I try to open any of the pages I built, I

Are there any best practices on releasing updates of an ASP.Net application

IIS is still running or should IIS be stopped first?

Hello all. Probably I should be sending this to a different group so
apologies if this seem out of place.
We have an Access db in which people change data - as they do. When
they do that, our SQL db gets updated too. These data need to be
instantly displayed on the website.
Currently, a SQL DB call is made every few seconds and it's causing
big performance issues (which is why this service is not very popular
with our clients)
What they...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
