I get this error when i tried to execute a stored
procedure with a input parameter of type varchar and
length 8000. When I run the sam in SQL query analyser it
doesn't give any problem. I find the same issue posted in
many of the forums, but nowhere I could find the solution.
please help.

Ocasionally I get this error message:

There is an arcticle in MSDN describing this problem, but it does not apply
to my case and it appears to be Framework data issue.
The code uses Framework 1.0 and the machine has NET SP3

Description of the problem:
Using a PreparedStatement to write down an integer (int) plus a
timestamp for testing purposes. When read out again the integer looks
very different. We found that it was shifted three Bytes to the left,
i.e. 4 becomes hex 4000000 which is 67108864 in decimal base. This
means that the value written and the value read sometimes do not
match, which is of course inacceptable for all real world...

I believe I have found a severe limitation of DotNet, with respect to
hosting Windows Form Controls in WebPages.
It appears this is only possible when the web is configured on Port 80. Any
other port and the control will not display.
After a couple of days of searching the newsgroups/various forums I have
found other postings requesting information on this anomaly yet nobody has
found a solution.
What are Microsoft doing with this ? It...

Any idea why this happens? It only happens on the live machine, but not the
test machine. I've heard this happens when you try to send too much data to
SQL Server, but all I'm sending are 4 small varchars and 2 floats thru
ExecuteNonQuery.
