Seeking XML Editor for "Users"

I have a web site (for a client) where I am now using a considerable
number of XML files. Previously the files were updated off-line, and FTPd
to make live.

I now need to allow "user editors" to edit the XML data. These users are
primarily "business knowledge" experts; intelligent but not necessarily IT
literate. I need to provide a simple XML editor to allow them (e.g.) to
edit a simplified RDF style metadata base (actually a modified PRISM
syntax). Enforced validation (e.g. against a DTD) would be beneficial.

The site support asp.net, so an application "embedded" within an asp.net
shell would appear to be one solution. Any suggestion for such tools, or
services please, would be appreciated.

I haven't looked around for anything web based, but yo should look into Word
2003, InfoPath 2003 and various other XML based forms client apps (Adobe has
one and there are others, too).

Word does make for a pretty smart XML editor at this point. You can also
embed .NET code to upload the XML files for the user etc. InfoPath presents
forms based UIs that can interact with Web services.

I'd be interested to hear what you find.

Hi, Spent nearly 8 hours googling and trying code on this yesterday without much success. I'd like to write a .NET application (using .NET primitives, older Win32 calls, or WMI etc) to work out which users can log onto a machine the application is running on. The platforms I'd like to support are NT/2000/XP - although 98 would be good too. It looks like for 2000 and XP OS' the answer is listed in the "Local Security Policy" control...

I'm using a .net Setup Project to install my .net Windows Application. I want the application installed for "all users". The Installation Folder dialog in the User Interface Editor includes a nice radio button for doing just that. But I want the installation to be silent. I achieve this by deleting all the forms from the User Interface Editor. But then the user can't select the radio button and I can't see a way of doing so...

Hi all, It seems a Web Deployment Project always installs as "Just Me". I have a merge module project that has to install as "All Users" as part of my web application. This is because in "File System" editor, I put some files under "User's Application Data" folder. If a deployment project is installed as "All Users", then files are placed under "C:\Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data" rather than under "C:\Documents And...

Another Q, Because we sometimes need to repair the shared database I would like to find out if there is a way to "kick" all users from a database. The problem is that I cannot repair the database when it is beeing accessed by another user and this almost always seems to be the case. With another tool I downloaded I can identify the users still in the database and send them a NET message to exit the DB. Does anyone know how I can do...

Instructions for creating a silent install project in Visual Studio.NET 2003 for "All Users". 1) Create a default setup project for your application using Visual Studio (File/New/Setup and Deployment Projects) 2) Add all your components and fully test your setup project using default setup dialogue especially selecting "All users" option in Application Location dialogue. 3) In Visual Studio 2003, highlight your setup project and right mouse...

is it possible to add a bunch of users to group and only allow group to access the web page or do I need to add each user to the web.config file? Or is there another way to do this? I just took over a project and most of the web sites have users defined in the web.config file that can access the site. Now users come and go so this config file is always being modified. Could I just add the users to a group and only allow that group, or...

Good afternoon PHPers, This morning I downloaded "PHP Users" from sourceforge to implement a user registration system. I followed the instructions in INSTALL.txt, and successfully configured MySQL and set up an Apache Alias. Eclipse reported several errors and warnings for scripts inside the "PHP Users" directory. These errors were caused by incorrect paths inside the include, require-once and require statements. I changed all of...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
