I'm using a .net Setup Project to install my .net Windows
Application. I want the application installed for "all
users". The Installation Folder dialog in the User
Interface Editor includes a nice radio button for doing
just that. But I want the installation to be silent. I
achieve this by deleting all the forms from the User
Interface Editor. But then the user can't select the radio
button and I can't see a way of doing so...

I have a secured Access 2000 database. There are approximately 30 user
accounts already set up. Each user logs into their copy of the
front-end by via a desktop shortcut which includes their username and
password.
Would there be a problem if all users accessed the database via the
SAME Access account username/password? I need to set up access to the
database for 15 new employees, and it would save a lot of time to
simply assign them the...

Our website contains subdirectories for each subsidiary company, each
company has it's own look and feel to the pages in their subdirectory
although they are all part of the main website.
The code below in the Web.Config file defines the authentication as forms
and the aspx file required for login if the user is unauthenticated... this
works well for the root level company web pages however when a user viewing
the website of SubCompanyA...

Warning: Tenderfoot
I'm playing around with ASP.Net 2.0 b2. The web app I've created has a
default, login, recovery, etc. pages in the root and two folders
accessible to authenticated users only. I have a simple class that
needs to be accessible to the two subfolders mentioned above. I placed
this class in App_Code and declared it Friend/Internal. However, I
can't access it in the two subfolders unless it's declared Public.
I...

Hi all,
It seems a Web Deployment Project always installs as "Just Me".
I have a merge module project that has to install as "All Users" as part of
my web application. This is because in "File System" editor, I put some
files under "User's Application Data" folder. If a deployment project is
installed as "All Users", then files are placed under "C:\Documents And
Settings\All Users\Application Data" rather than under "C:\Documents And...

is it possible to add a bunch of users to group and only allow group to
access the web page or do I need to add each user to the web.config file?
Or is there another way to do this?
I just took over a project and most of the web sites have users defined in
the web.config file that can access the site. Now users come and go so this
config file is always being modified. Could I just add the users to a group
and only allow that group, or...

Hello:
Our HR dept wants to allow users to download various HR forms from our
comp intranet. But since there are over 20 forms, I need to allow
users to select the files they want and then download the selected
files using a single click to "Download All" button. How can I do
this? Is there some canned script that would do this? Is this even
possible with a client side script?
Thanks.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
