I've made an ASP form page that is executed via a
Javascript function.
There's a javascript function that builds an XML object
with the form values. But in some browers it seems to
fail on the line that reads:
var objXML = new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.DOMDocument.4.0");
It's works fine in my IE 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0 browsers. Any

I am using Msxml2.DOMDocument to pull xml fragments from different sibling
websites. This works off the net, however during testing on my localhost, it
fails if called from an external website. Could this be due to the firewall?
If the external site calls for a webpage on localhost, or a js file (from IE
running on localhost) however, the Msxml2.DOMDocument doesn't?
I would appreciate any thoughts or info related to this, such as the port...

Hi all,
I have an xml document that can contain 248 nodes with
each node containing different fields. There is the
possibility that there will be more nodes. Each node can
have up to 30 elements.
What do you suggest is the best way to parse through this
document? Should I create a class and deserialize the
xml into it? Should I create a giant parsing routine?

Ok, I've seen many examples of javascript
parsing an XML document retrieved from a file
indicated by a URL.
The problem is I need to parse (usually small)
xml *strings* embedded in the javascript program
or generated locally, and I can't find any way
to do this exposed (even though some internal
part of the engine clearly is capable of doing it).
Am I missing something?

I am writing a maintenance site for my department. One of the pages
displays XML from the database in a GridView. I would like to be able
to edit the cell, which I can currently do, but parse the contents of
the cell when updating to make sure what is saved into the databse is
proper XML.
