Hello,
I have a windows service applicat written in VB.net.
Everything works fine if I install it by using
InstallUtil.exe in Command Propt window on both
development and target machine. But If I install it by
using 'Install' in VS.net IDE (right click on setup
project, get a popup menu, click on Install) or run
setup.exe in deubg folder under setup project, I got
following error message:

I dont know if this is the correct newsgroup to post questions on Windows
Service.
I am trying to install and uninstall a Windows Service programmatically.
As far as I know, there isnt a class in .NET FCL which supports doing that.
The ServiceController class starts/stops an installed service but doesnt
install a service. Is there a way to install/uninstall a service
programmatically (not using the Installer) ?

I am running XP Pro SP with VS7.1 and .NET 1.1
It installed okay the first time, but during uninstall the app crashed.

Hi All..
I have developed an application (vb.net) that basically wakes up early
morning, and transmits via FTP an access database. The application
works fine. Lately, it hasnt been working, so some investigation found
that the users (all XP Pro) where logging off their PC's.
Of course, logging off their PC's caused the program to cease running.
My vb.net app is installed by a Setup Project under VS.NET. What I

Hi,
I am developing windows service in C#, I have to develop interactive service
but this service can be used by the user who has not have the administrative
writes.
I am facing the problem how can check "Allow service to interact with
desktop" programaticaly in the propertybox of the service, and another
problem is how can the other user who doesnt have administrative writes use
this service.

To create a 'interactive' service on windows - we use a localsystem account ,with 'Interact with desktop' option.
Is there any other account which allows a service to be interactive - e.g. can a service be made interactive while it is running under the credentials of a domain account in 2000/XP/2003 ?
We launch an IE browser from the service - and hence the service neesd to be interactive.

This problems may solve a recurring failure in my automatic updates if

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
