Hello I have a regex problem, spent about 7 hours on this now, but I don't find the answer in the manual and googling, though I think this must have been discussed before. I try to simply extract the title and meta tags of a valid HTML page as an array: function extract_html($filename)

I am currently stripping HTML from a string with the following code. (I know it's not the best way to strip HTML but bear with me) re.compile("<.*?>") I wanted to allow all H1 and H2 tags so i changed it to: re.compile("<*?>") This seemed to work but it also allowed the HTML tag(basically anythin

Hi, I am here to request support from anyone that has idea's on cross-browser HTML (Mainly Firefox and IE). My personal website http://trammel.no-ip.info works fine on Firefox but IE decides to crush the left table (ingnoring that there is no breakable spaces). I tried using nowrap already and IE still forces a wrap of the text in the menu... thats why I tried using non-breaking spaces instead of normal ones... so there was nowhere to...

Hi, I am currently writing a simple PHP program that uses an XML file to output rows for a 'Whats New' page. Once written, I will only require updating the XML file and any pages that use the XML file will get their row content from there. The rows may look some thing similar to this: - Added <a>mailing list</a> functionality to <a>homepage</a> - Competition winners announced, click <a>here</a>

Hi all, I know this is a well-worn topic, but in viewing multiple posts and articles, I still can't find a satisfactory answer. I have embedded html in an xml file (element data, not attributes) which I wish to display. --example of xml doc <footnotes type_num="5"> <footnote footHeaderValue="0" sub="0" br="0" b="0"><company/>® is authorized to transact business in all

I figured I would post my solution to the following. Resizable column tables. Search and replace values in a table. (IE only) Scrollable tables. Sortable tables. It is based on a lot examples I found on the web. Works in IE and mozilla. http://www.imaputz.com/cssStuff/bigFourVersion.html

Hi All, I am working on a script that is theoreticaly simple but I can not get it to work completely. I am dealing with a page spit out by .NET that leaves empty tags in the markup. I need a javascript solution to go behind and do a clean up after the page loads. The .NET will leave behind any combination of nested tags. Here is an example below. Even though the <spantags are not empty, as they contain <emtags they also need to be...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
