Disable 'Back' button in the browser menu

Hi,

We are working on a .NET application (ASP.NET/VB.NET). We need to suppress
(disable) the 'Back' button in the menu of the browser. What is the way to do
that?

Thanks in advance

You are not able to access this due to security restrictions. You can open a
new window via JavaScript and surpress the toolbar but keep in mind the user
can also right click the page and choose "Back" from the context menu.

Cheers,

The simple answer is you can't !

However, providing you don't mind restricting the users to using IE only
(ie: this will NOT work in any other browser - W3C compliant or not) you
can trap the OnBeforeNavigat e event and cancel the bubble to prevent IE
from actually navigating (or display message to user etc etc).

I have a set of links which I want search engines to crawl them, but I want to disable them from my visitors, so I will ask the link owners to pay me to let me enable them. <a disabled href="#">bahbahbah</a> Does not work, as it is still clickable. It only changes the color to grey.
